Please

Please

PLEASE!

It is literally TWO people, out of the thousands registered here, who are ruining the Mumsnet thing for me - RUINING it, I say!

What are the chances of this being brought in?

Someone can probably write a app that could be customised for this very purpose. I've got one that blocks any mention of the Kardash1ans - very satisfying to see thread titles or posts simply vanish before your eyes.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 22/11/2015 14:55

It would be quite a funny moment when a GF realises that the majority of MN has them hidden cos NO ONE is replying to anything they say. "I guess I am a bit of an arse." Grin

CarlaJones · 22/11/2015 15:05

Are the posters being referred to that people want to hide always winding people up on the same subject? Or on various different subjects?

exLtEveDallas · 22/11/2015 15:07

Meh. I've got two posters hidden using Firefox/greasemonkey and I don't have any Swiss cheese issues (although, one of the posters has left so she's not an issue any more in any case). Even on threads where the posters are prolific it is no bother - I know the sort of shit they will be saying so I know I'm not missing anything :)

The first person I hid was because she was pissing all over my chips whenever I posted, and I reacted every time so it was that or be banned, the second person was simply because they are so blinkered and unswerving (and disingenuous) on a particular subject that I could not be bothered to read their tripe any more.

Sadly it only works when I am on the PC rather than the twatphone, so I'm still in the 'beg MN for this' crowd...

UnlikelyPilgramage · 22/11/2015 15:10

It's both for me carla

Poster 1 makes threads all about her. Poster 2 bangs on about the same topic.

Id like to block someone who really irritates me with her endless boasting. She name changes a lot so i can't ignore her posts until I have read them. iyswim

As we are allowed to change our usernames you couldn't have it set up to block a particular poster as that would let posters have a way of linking a users different nicknames.

i think the only way it would work would be if you could block a nickname but only on a thread by thread basis. It would be a bit of a half way house solution but I think it would work for me.

reni2 · 22/11/2015 15:15

I don't gf who come on a thread with an op who genuinely asked for advice and make it about themselves. There are a couple at present who, if real, published most of their life in days and have blown up a handful of threads in the process.

reni2 · 22/11/2015 15:18

Don't=can't stand.

UnlikelyPilgramage · 22/11/2015 15:19

I'm sure our posters are the same reni Grin

Mine are aware, I said it in the flow of their "make this thread MINE" tirades.

UnlikelyPilgramage · 22/11/2015 15:26

Apologies usual

If it's always on the same topic then isn't it just that they've got a different opinion? Or is there something in particular they are doing that's unacceptable? There's one particular topic that I know some of the responses will wind me up about (from posters that have an opposing view to mine) So i just hide those threads before reading them. I've seen people being accused of being goady when really they just had a different (perfectly valid) opinion to the people accusing them of being goady.

SSargassoSea · 22/11/2015 17:18

I must be on some parallel universe Mumsnet - I don't have a problem with irritating goady posts, I can ignore them.

reni2 · 22/11/2015 18:48

There is a mn saying Ssargassosea, the famous parallel universe, I've done it myself. In RL I'd say I don't agree, on mn I live in a parallel universe if I think op and several other posters are wrong.
