I can't change my password - keep getting a passwords don't match message

I have no idea what my password is but want to change my user name.
So I got a password reset link emailed to me.
I put in the new password, confirm it but every time I get a message saying my passwords don't match. Confused

Can anyone help?

Hi Suddengeekgirl,

Sorry you're having trouble with this. Can we just ask, are you using the app or mobile site by any chance? We've had a few people saying they've had trouble changing their password, but they can manage it fine on the desktop site. There's no earthly reason for this, of course, and it could be user error, but could you have a try again on the desktop site if possible?

do you have an app than autofills passwords?

I use Norton, and it likes to overwrite with my old password unless I temporarily switch it off. It doesn't do that on all sites, but I remember it does with Nectar.

I have also had the same problem using the mobile app. It is not user error.

It's the mobile site that was being weird.

I'll try the desktop site now.

It worked! Which I guess means the mobile site has some gremlins.

Oh, and thanks PigletJohn for suggesting the password autofill thing - that could definitely be what's going on for some people.

Mobile site.

I had to switch to desktop to fix it - just like back in November!
