Thanks for letting us know. I've reported this issue to our back end developers who will look into it as soon as they can.

Thanks PeteTech Smile

If it helps, I am also unable to add a photo to show the error messages.

The refresh picture shows when I try to open one of the new threads, that said it didn't post (but tricked me coz it did!)

Ps: it seems an intermittent fault because they last message took 3 failed reports to finally get a success.

PeteTech, one last thing, can you get the repeated posts - that are not possible to open - deleted? There's 7 of them in a row on a different topic. And one in site stuff.

It's just that it's not possible to open them and report it to MN myself.

PeteTech · 27/09/2015 18:59

Thanks for the info. Yes, we will look into getting them deleted in the morning. We've seen this intermittent problem before and a fix was being tested, so hopefully we'll be able to get it sorted soon.

MNerAnon · 29/09/2015 09:11

Has this been resolved yet? I dare be try because I've already clogged up mumsnet with pseudo-threads, which have been reported but still not removed, which is making me wonder if the wheels of repair are turning slowly.

Yes, this should have been resolved (there were some server problems that got fixed yesterday). Thanks a lot for your patience.

I've asked the relevant person about whether it's possible to clear up the broken threads, but that might take a little longer.

MNerAnon · 29/09/2015 20:06

Thanks PeteTech. It's always a relief to hear back from you that you're all over it!

Out of interest why might it take some time to get deleted? The reason I ask is because there was a thread over the weekend asking for deletion, a safety husband related incident it seems, and MN promised to delete the whole thread immediately. I wondered what's different about this, other than of course no one stands to get physically hurt irl. Is there something about the glitch itself or simply that you guys are inundated and it isn't priority?

It's not really my area, I'm afraid, but I believe that the problem would be that they can't be deleted in the usual way that a reported thread would be.

If it was a normal thread, it'd just be a case of opening it up and pressing the delete button.

But since these threads can't be opened in order to do that, I imagine it would be a case of deleting directly from the database which will mean diverting development resources away from other important site maintenance.

MNerAnon · 29/09/2015 23:12

Thanks - as I suspected, it sounds rather complicated!

Thanks for all your trouble. Do you get any time off?!! You seem to live on here Wink

I for one am glad you do though!

I've been keeping an eye on things out-of-hours when I get a chance to try and help everyone through the launch of the new app (don't worry I get plenty of time off)!!Smile
