Wow MNHQ, your day has been worse than mine. I was ready to post a whinge about 2 whiny preteens who have been driving me mad all day. I think I'll shut up.

I will change passwords etc, & I haven't seen the enforced log out, in case tech is interested.

You have been through a shitstorm today, and people are giving you flak about it.

You have my full support, I'm sure you are doing the best you can.

I'm guessing all the keyboard warriors out there haven't had to deal with a lot of the shit MNHQ have.

I'm not about to de reg or vanish. Mr Hacker can continue to put up with my queries on dog care, what temp to wash stuff on etc.. oh & he can FUCK OFF!!!

Can we have some moral support for MNHQ here please, women supporting each other, isn't that what MN is about?

OP posts:
TheSecondOfHerName · 19/08/2015 21:52

Seconded (especially apt considering my name change).

Arkkorox · 19/08/2015 21:53

Yes!! Good thread.

Three cheers for MNHQ who are working their socks off.

I think we need to keep things in perspective. It is a website. It is vulnerable to being hacked like any other website.

OohMrDarcy · 19/08/2015 21:54

Most definitely... I work in IT infrastructure and we've all been there dealing with the day from hell at some point!

Hassled · 19/08/2015 21:56

Thanks for this - I just can't begin to imagine quite how shit their day has been. And they're defending something that's so important to so many people.

Sirzy · 19/08/2015 21:56

I agree.

Those that did this must be in hysterics at the response from posters it is exactly what they will have wanted.

Katz · 19/08/2015 22:02

Agree, MNHQ have my full support.

Rarity08 · 19/08/2015 22:05

WineBrewCake for MNHQ and tech team. What a nightmare.

GallivantingCat · 19/08/2015 22:06

Wine to MN!

YouSmellLikeDogBuns · 19/08/2015 22:07

I agree. Hang in there. This too will pass...

RJnomaaaaaargh · 19/08/2015 22:11

Absolutely. They must be really concerned about being swatted themselves too???? must be so scary to be in the middle of this. I'm nervous enough and I'm another one with the exciting queries about washing temps.

Go mnhq.

LegArmpits · 19/08/2015 22:12

Innit.

SewingAndCakes · 19/08/2015 22:13

Completely agree. Well done MNHQ and I'm going nowhere.

wickedlazy · 19/08/2015 22:16

Another Wine raised to MNHQ, and another poster that thinks dadsec can fuck off!

Jux · 19/08/2015 22:19

Quite so. We have to take some responsibility for ourselves, and if we are silly about passwords then really we have no one to blame. We are all meant to be internet savvy by now, surely.

I've sent HQ buckets of gin already this evening but I reckon they'll have got through it by now, so I can send some more. I gather there's been another publishing phenomenon - MN partners or something. Hardly Top Secret though.

[more buckets of gin]

[gin for everyone]

FeckTheMagicDragon · 19/08/2015 22:27

I think that this attack - the extreme methods used - swatting, ripping off all those details - is a testimony as to how influential and powerful a resource mumsnet is. This nest of vipers is one of the few female friendly, supportive and influential resources on the Internet. And it changes women's lives for the better.
No wonder it makes the weak mysonsgnistics out there so afraid they try to shut it down. But hey, if you've been dumped by someone you thought loved you, abused by a relative, lost a loved one, had a shit time because you can't afford to pay the bills or going through a child custody case - and got support and advice here that helped you through it - having to change a password is not exactly a big deal.

FeckTheMagicDragon · 19/08/2015 22:29

Or even wet yourself laughing because someone one killed a spider with her twat and decided to share :)

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 19/08/2015 22:32

I agree too. And I've had to take my children to soft play today. Oh and I've run out of wine Shock and gin mixers Shock Shock

Still, no armed police at my door or major security breaches in my home/at work is a boon.

Arkkorox · 19/08/2015 22:37

killed a spider with her twat

Shock
FeckTheMagicDragon · 19/08/2015 22:38

Akkorox - is was snort rippingly funny. I'll try and find it.

Pancakeflipper · 19/08/2015 22:42

Not reading any of the histrionics. But can imagine the drama (is it like New Year all over again?)

Happy to change my password over and over and over.

Ah Justine and co. You built a monster, a lovely one but naturally someone had to have go at knocking it down.

Not only have you the site to keep going, fix the site, contact users, you must have loads of legalities to deal with. Hope the wine is on tap.
