Unable to use mumsnet on mobile devices

I see there are already threads on this but they sound like a slightly different problem.

I've reported this issue before and it was fixed for a while - I think you took down some specific ads. On iPhone and iPad, the site is completely unusable for me now and has been since the weekend. I'm immediately taken to the app store for candy crush and betting type gains. No vile porn sites yet, but last time this happened the app store redirects came first, then the porn sites.

I'm on a laptop now and will not be trying to access the site via my phone or iPad until I am reassured it's fixed. Please help!

Hi there Asleeponasunbeam - are you having this problem on the mobile site or the app?

Asleeponasunbeam · 18/03/2015 19:40

The mobile site. Completely unable to use it on iPad or iPhone now.

Hi Asleep,

First of all, sorry this is happening -these redirecting ads definitely aren't allowed on Mumsnet. We work with some tech partners and although they have really tight restrictions on what's allowed, a rogue advert sometimes gets through. Angry

It would be really helpful if you could give us the name of the apps that you're being redirected to in the app store and if it states who the app is being manufactured by, that's really helpful info for us too.

We'll start trying to replicate your issue and hopefully we'll get this resolved quickly.

It's redirecting to play.google.com today - that's a new one actually. It was definitely a candy crush app before, and I didn't look at the others closely - some were betting apps. Thanks for trying to sort this.

I am finding that my ipad has been dropping mn for the past few days but also other sites

Asleeponasunbeam · 19/03/2015 17:57

No better this evening. It's an immediate redirect - completely impossible to use. Anyway, it's a William Hill betting app today.

Problem seems to have been fixed - thanks.

The mobile site is redirecting to a Simon's cat website instantly each time I open it. Very frustrating since I'm not a fan of the app (sorry!)

Asleeponasunbeam · 21/03/2015 06:35

I spoke too soon, sadly. It was usable for about half an hour last night and then began redirecting again. Not to the app store at the moment, but to a range of sites that start with m.mobile

Asleeponasunbeam · 22/03/2015 16:17

Same on Sunday. Back to the app store redirects.

OP posts:
Asleeponasunbeam · 23/03/2015 19:40

Still going on. Is it just me?

OP posts:
Asleeponasunbeam · 25/03/2015 06:15

and still.
I was able to use it for five minutes last night and thought the problem was fixed. But redirects started again.
Please let me know if this is going to be fixable.

My android app is blank. No topics, no threads...nothing.

ColetteTech · 26/03/2015 14:56

and still. I was able to use it for five minutes last night and thought the problem was fixed. But redirects started again. Please let me know if this is going to be fixable.

Hi Asleep, can I just check if this problem is only happening when you're browsing MN? Does it happen on other sites too? It seems weird that there aren't loads of other people reporting the same issue Confused

Thanks

Asleeponasunbeam · 26/03/2015 19:59

It's very weird! Okay this evening though.

I can't get onto the bbc news site either - says 'too many redirects have occurred'.

Asleeponasunbeam · 27/03/2015 06:14

Lasted a couple of minutes yesterday evening again, then the redirects began.

Asleeponasunbeam · 30/03/2015 14:56

Still the same problem.
