Blasted purple pop-up AGAIN!

ZombieApocalypse · 06/01/2015 09:55

I click on the x to close it, then whenever I navigate back to Active it pops up again. This seems to happen every time there's a purple pop-up.

Any chance if it being fixed properly and not having to create a thread about it every time? Thank you!

The bloody thing is back again!!! Angry Angry Angry

Back again and you can't close it!

Firefox on IOSx

WorraLiberty · 19/01/2015 13:23

Do you mean like this purple one?

It's driving me fecking mad. It's so invasive because it forces me to click on it, to get rid of it. When I click, it opens another tab that I then have to close.

Where is there not even an X on the corner that I can click to get rid?

It's always the webchat ads that do this Angry

cozietoesie · 19/01/2015 14:35

I don't think I've ever had this pop-up. I'm feeling neglected.

KateSMumsnet · 19/01/2015 17:19

Really sorry your struggling folks. We set up these sliders (that's their official name) to let people know about webchats, as we know from past experience people often don't find out their favourite author/actor etc is coming on til it's too late. So they will pop up from time to time. However, the crucial thing is that they should disappear once you X them - you shouldn't have to click onto them to get rid.

It seems to be across a spread of browser that people are getting annoyed with it - do any of you have private browsing enabled?

WorraLiberty · 20/01/2015 21:03

No I don't use private browser

I'm using the normal Chrome

The problem with it is, it seems to be too far to the right so the X is missing.

RowanMumsnet · 21/01/2015 10:32

Oh dear. As KateS says, we do use sliders to publicise webchats and things like that (because we had so many people tell us that they'd missed such-and-such a webchat because they didn't know it was happening) - BUT you should def be able to close them, and once you've dismissed them once they shouldn't come back (unless you log out and log back in again).

What devices are you using, Worra and luis?

WorraLiberty · 21/01/2015 14:19

I'm using a PC Rowan

The only reason I have to click the slider, is because as you can see from the screenshot, it's too far over to my right so the X is missing.

If it was more central, or even just a little bit more to the left (like they used to be), I could close it without clicking on it.

Thanks Worra - we'll ask Tech to take a look.
