something MOST PECULIAR is happening to some newly started threads

in active convos it says "0" instead of "1" post (the OP's), but you can see who started the thread

when you click on the thread it says "sorry that thread could not be found"

but once you post a response it all miraculously appears!

I paste the screenshot into a word document then right click to save as a picture, save it as a jpeg then upload it to here.

I'm sure there's an easier way but I don't know it Grin

I just saw this on a thread, I'll ask the OP to let you know what device she posted from.

BackOnlyBriefly · 07/10/2014 13:20

Odd isn't it. The post isn't hidden - you can look at the source - it hasn't fetched it from the database.

I suppose the problem must be in retrieving the first post from the database. You know it's there, because it gets it later so it was put into the database properly.

If adding a post causes it to appear then it isn't directly related to the OP - unless the OPs browser left off a final new line or something, but the page should take care of that. It shouldn't be dependent on the browser getting it right.

Oh and before anyone posts on one of these thread the link for FLIP say this:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/$pm.Thread.TopicUrl/$pm.Thread.ThreadUrl?reverse=1

Instead of something like this:

I can't post a screenshot. I did paste it into Word but right clicking won't give me the option to save it as a picture, can only save it as a word document.

Och well.

Vitalstatistix · 07/10/2014 13:34

daft question but you right clicked on the picture itself, not just the document?

PetulaGordino · 07/10/2014 13:37

paste into paint instead, should give you the option to save as a jpeg in the dropdown menu of file types

Vitalstatistix · 07/10/2014 13:37

this is my screenshot of a screenshot pasted into word and the picture rightclicked to show that you can save the picture Grin

does it have to be jpeg? i've never tried anything else

OP posts:
Vitalstatistix · 07/10/2014 13:38

dunno. They might do png. I'll have a crack at it. hang on.

ouryve · 07/10/2014 13:38

Save it in paint. Or else, if you're using windows 7 or 8, use the snipping tool, which will enable you to save it as a .png without any pasting.

FelixFelix · 07/10/2014 13:54

Hello, I've been directed here as I started a thread which wasn't showing up. I'm posting from my ipad using the MN app, if that helps.

FelixFelix · 07/10/2014 13:54

Forgot to say I'm not having this issue viewing threads on the app at all.

PetulaGordino · 07/10/2014 13:58

could you see your own OP before anyone posted there felix?

OP posts:
FelixFelix · 07/10/2014 14:00

Yes I could see it no problem.

AMumInScotland · 07/10/2014 14:44

The OP on the one I noticed says she posted from a SmartPhone, if that helps anything.

FruVikingessOla · 07/10/2014 16:09

Here's a new one I've just seen. The Panini sticker thread - and what it looks like when you open it.

iMac / Firefox for me - although I doubt that's relevant.
