GE Money Mums - what's that about?

In active conversations, there are three threads under a "GE Money Mums" heading that don't let you see the thread. What is GE money mums?

I became one by filling out a questionnaire on the home page when I was bored we have to answer six emails asking us about mums and money etc then we get £35 vouchers for space nk and £35 for the White company. We also have our own username and password to post on our own special thread I haven't done this yet though but may visit tonight to see what it's all on about.

I've just read my email the seperate threads are were we go to earn our reward points to get our vouchers so basically just questionnaires we can't actually talk to others I don't think.

I can't find the questionnaire. Did you do it recently? Me, I'd do anything for space nk vouchers.

It was a couple of months ago now it's not there anymore as the panel have been selected not everyone that filled in the questionnaire is on the GE panel I don't think.

Hi all and apologies for the confusion. Here's the explanation.

We were asked to help GE Money recruit 100 mums (GE Money Mums - hence GEMMs) to help them develop a consumer finance product. There was a survey earlier in the summer and then a random 100 mums were chosen to take part. To take part you respond to 6 emails that contain questions. As a reward for taking part and responding to each email you earn reward points which at the end of the six mails convert to Space NK and White company vouchers.

For their second email, sent out last week, GE Money wanted to use a Talk-type set up to ask the 100 sample mums 3 questions. Technically the simplest way to do this was to use the Talk template. The section where the GEMMs are answering their questions is not, however, part of Talk or even part of Mumsnet and was never intended to show up on Active convos - but technical glitches happen even to genius tech bods like our own dear Tech, hence the mysteriously inaccessible thread and the subsequent confusion.

Apologies there isn't a juicier, more conspiratorial explanation but hope that explains it all.

For all those dismayed that they missed the chance to earn Space NK and White Co vouchers - don't worry! We'll be giving information out soon on how you can sign up to take part in future market research projects, which we hope will have equally attractive incentives and rewards.
