Just lost the coloured bands to highlight the op and myself in the threads. I hope it's just a little glitch?

OP posts:

iPad ios7 safari
Happened the day after the mobile site debacle
Still happening

AttentionSeekingFantasist · 23/08/2014 15:48

Yes, coincided with new mobile site.

Using chrome and windows 8.1 on a desktop PC.

Thanks for looking into it Dawn.

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 23/08/2014 15:54

Dawn

I am on an HP Laptop, old as the hills.

It has also started doing < to my pound signs?

  • I have lost 'Threads started by'
  • I am having to press 'post', then close the box asking if I want to save or read the post, then refresh the post - every single time I post.
  • Advance search isn't working very well (ie sometimes saying 80 messages (or whatever) but not showing them.

Hoping tech can sort it quickly Wine

wooldonor · 23/08/2014 16:24

I have been away so don't know when the change happened but I'd like the started by column back as well please

PC with windows 7 and whatever the latest Firefox is.

DawnMumsnet · 23/08/2014 16:31

For what it's worth, I'm having the same problem!

PC laptop/Chrome/Windows 7

Are you listening, Tech? Grin

ilovechristmas1 · 23/08/2014 17:28

laptop here chrome

and think it did happen when the mobile site changed

thanks

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 23/08/2014 18:51

I'm on a kindle fire using silk. It did seem to coincide with the mobile site changing.

FruVikingessOla · 23/08/2014 19:00

So, MNHQ decides to make a major change to the mobile site - thereby having a knock-on effect to the desktop site - a few days BEFORE A BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND, when, presumably, all the techs are .... on holiday?

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 23/08/2014 19:16

I don't think they're on holiday Fru, I think they've all locked themselves in the cleaning cupboard and are mainlining Gin. I would be if I'd made such a momumental fuck up mistake Grin

FruVikingessOla · 23/08/2014 20:11

I suspect you're right, Latte, Grin

.... except 'Pore Ole (Main) Tech' who lives in New York who won't even be on a Bank Holiday Weekend Sad. But he might be mainlining Manhattans Wink

Zucker · 25/08/2014 16:12

laptop/firefox 31.0/Windows 8. It seemed to coincide with the changeover.

MollyHooper · 25/08/2014 16:19

Laptop, Chrome and Ubuntu here.

magimedi · 25/08/2014 16:22

Desktop, firefox & windows 7 here.

All my customised things vanished on Friday - I've been able to re set all of them except the option to see 'thread started by'.

ilovechristmas1 · 25/08/2014 18:15

seriously how long MN before we get some answers

i have to say since these changes ive deffo been on MN less and the rate that it's taking to get any answers i think i may give it a rest for awhile, very poor communications from MN on this

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 26/08/2014 08:31

They will have a reduced staff on over bank holiday I expect. Another reason why this was so inappropriately timed, apart from the fact that the site clearly was nowhere near being ready.

Thurlow · 26/08/2014 13:59

Any news yet?

It's frustrating not knowing how old a thread is before you click on it. Also I have one or twice gone into threads thinking "oh no, I can't believe X poster is having problems!" - but of course, it's X posting on a thread, rather than starting it.

Having the problems on Chrome, IE and Firefox - browser isn't making any difference at all.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 26/08/2014 18:57

Desktop site on my phone has been 504 bad gateway for hours

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 26/08/2014 20:50

Many apologies, I have had a look and this appears to have been added to the giant to-do list that formed over the... you've guessed it, Bank Holiday Weekend. We're really sorry about the inconvenience, and I have given Tech another poke tonight.

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 26/08/2014 20:51

I've sent on a message about your Bad Gateway as well, Ehric. If there is any information you have about it (browser and whatnot) that would be really helpful.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 26/08/2014 22:15

iPhone 5, ios7, safari. Thanks.

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 27/08/2014 09:48

Helen - we were told it was already being looked into - so are you saying that's not the case? Any idea where it is on Tech's list?

It is that annoying that I am considering checking out nethuns... yes, it's that bad! Grin

ilovechristmas1 · 30/08/2014 22:20

thank you

trackrBird · 31/08/2014 13:54

All solved here too. Many thanks.
