QUESTIONS ABOUT NEW LAYOUT THREAD

SouthernComforts · 20/08/2014 20:07

Sorry for shouting. I'm guessing MNHQ has exploded with people complaining so this is for actual questions or queries.

How do I hide threads?

How do I get all OPs posts to highlight, not just the opening post?

Tia!

The emoticons look a bit weird now next to the cleaner IMO text. They look out of place somehow.

whatdoesittake48 · 21/08/2014 11:26

Can we have the saved button back please?

Davros · 21/08/2014 11:27

I agree with crispandfruity, the "first, next, last, previous" buttons should've at the top of the page as well as the bottom. Apart from that, I don't care about the rest as I'm not an accomplished user (after 11years!)

Davros · 21/08/2014 19:42

Thank you!

cakesonatrain · 21/08/2014 20:55

Still just as pants as yesterday!

Gullygirl · 23/08/2014 01:58

I am finding it hard to read the OP's posts, the background colour is far too pale,as are the post counts at the side of each thread.
I also can't distinguish between threads I have and haven't read, they used to appear in a darker font but I can't seem to be able to have/get them highlighted any more.
I do like the way the smilies are easier to use though.Grin

Losingmyreligion · 29/08/2014 08:06

Now it's back to the old layout on my mobile. What's going on?

musicposy · 31/08/2014 02:58

How do I stop the blue strip at the bottom covering all the posts? I have to have the text quite large to see it and I now seem to have only two options, a) zoom out when the blue strip is a reasonable size but I can't actually read anything else or b) zoom in so I can now read the text but only be able to read a line at a time as the blue boxes cover the rest.
As I'm usually on my tablet, I've virtually stopped going on mumsnet since the change. Did anyone test it on people with less than 20/20 vision? Not that my eyesight is particularly bad, I'm just an old gimmer! Thers must be thousands of other users finding this.

Oodlives · 31/08/2014 07:03

Did anyone work out how to hide? It's not in my active any more.

fruitpastille · 31/08/2014 07:49

How do you watch a thread? I do lots of lurking so I need this!

Oodlives · 31/08/2014 08:47

There's an arrow at the top to bring a mini menu down and the watch button is there.

LittleBearPad · 31/08/2014 09:10

Hide a thread is in that menu too Ood

LittleBearPad · 31/08/2014 09:11

Sorry, should have said you have to click on the thread you want to hide to open it and then hide it.

Oodlives · 01/09/2014 06:25

I used to hide from active though. It's quicker to hide in bulk

LittleBearPad · 01/09/2014 09:50

Apparently that's something MNHQ are looking into.

So did I. Much quicker.

JessicaMumsnet · 01/09/2014 09:56

Hello all, just to confirm we will be introducing a way to hide direct from thread level so you don't have to go into each thread to hide
Smile

I'm also wondering how to zoom without losing the content. As I'm on my mobile the pictures are tiny but when I try to enlarge them the blue bar at the bottom, and the advertisement at the top also enlarge and cover the picture almost entirely. It's extremely frustrating.

PrueDent · 02/09/2014 11:23

In addition I'm no longer getting the original post on subsequent pages.

I have the op's posts and my own posts in similar shades of grey, no longer in the easily identifiable greens and purples I'd chosen.

I can't seem to add a post by clicking the add post button on the bottom, but have to scroll to the bottom of a page.

When I do post I get a grey screen with a circle of dots which doesn't do anything at all. I have to refresh to get back to the thread.

Anything (loading a page, posting etc)Sad takes far longer than it used to.

Please tell me these are teething problems. Sad

Oodlives · 02/09/2014 11:28

Think the add post problem sounds similar to mine. Check you're on www.mumsnet rather than m.mumsnet

PrueDent · 02/09/2014 11:49

Actually, I can't get the blue bar to work at all.Sad
