You type your post in the box and hit SEND.

You get a pop-up message at the bottom of the screen asking if you want to Open or Save the post you have just written.

You select 'Open'

It then goes into Adobe Acrobat.

After a few minutes your post may / mau not appear on the thread.

We had this very same problem last year and Tech fixed it.

i have this too it's very weird and annoying!

KateSMumsnet · 10/05/2014 13:07

That is very odd and shouldn't be happnening! Libertytrainers are you using IE9 too?

Anyone else getting this?

HotSauceCommittee · 10/05/2014 13:42

I tried to post twice on the Winterbourne thread, but what I wrote didn't appear either time.
I don't want to post again incase they all appear and the OP thinks I am obsessed with her.

2rebecca · 10/05/2014 14:25

I have this too, if I refresh the page then my post has been posted but I have to refresh the page first otherwise i just get the weird message. It just started yesterday

KateSMumsnet · 10/05/2014 16:00

Thanks everyone - can you tell us what you're using to post and we'll get Tech to look into this.

WetAugust · 10/05/2014 16:00

It happened on IE10 last year and I reverted to IE9 to cure the problem. Now we have the same problem with IE9.

OP posts:
libertytrainers · 10/05/2014 16:14

yes using IE9

libertytrainers · 10/05/2014 16:16

yes using IE9 says

do you want to open or savemessagebaeec21 (238 bytes) from www.mumsnet.com? open save cancel

KateSMumsnet · 10/05/2014 16:36

Thanks folks - we'll ask Tech to take a look, in the mean time you could always try a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox.

libertytrainers · 10/05/2014 20:42

i've forgotten my password so it's faffy to switch to firefox argh

Icimoi · 11/05/2014 15:00

This is still happening with IE. It's not open to me to change to another browser, it's not my system.

AKeyFox · 11/05/2014 23:08

Yup.

Happening here too. (Opera 11, Windows 7)

I just ignore it, even though the page freezes, the message still gets posted.

starfishmummy · 11/05/2014 23:18

And me. Android phone mobile site.
Click on post message which goes grey and freezes. If I press refresh it pcosts

MaudantWit · 12/05/2014 20:15

Yes, this is happening to me too on IE. Very annoying, but I am managing to circumvent it by hitting cancel on the open/save pop/up and then refreshing.

libertytrainers · 12/05/2014 20:45

still no fix?

KateSMumsnet · 13/05/2014 15:56

Sorry folks - no news as yet - we'll keep you posted though. V sorry for the inconvenience.

FruVikingessOla · 13/05/2014 23:52

FruVikingessOla · 13/05/2014 23:55

Icimoi · 15/05/2014 14:00

Still happening and it's a right pain. Any progress?

RowanMumsnet · 15/05/2014 14:49

Really sorry, we're still looking into this. We'll come back as soon as we've got something useful to say. Apologies

AnyaKnowIt · 15/05/2014 14:51

partystress · 15/05/2014 19:44
