Hi all,

We have recently had a mail forwarded to us here at MNHQ that was sent out from The Smile Mom team in London.

The mail was unsolicited to this MNetter and we wondered if anyone else had received it?

This specific mail was sent on the 15th of April and entitled 'Your Mumsnet password was hacked. Time to move on.'

We would be very interested to hear from anyone else who may have received a similar mail.

Many thanks

MNHQ

I'm pretty sure I got one - but I deleted it as 'spam' as I had changed my password by then.

GalensOyster · 22/04/2014 13:07

nope. Didn't get it.

AryaOfHouseSnark · 22/04/2014 13:07

Shock wow. Grin they were trying to poach MNers ? Grin Shock
No, I didn't get anything. Sad

AryaOfHouseSnark · 22/04/2014 13:10

Hang on, what is this smile mom ? I googled it and found Korean sitcom.

insanityscatching · 22/04/2014 13:13

I got it to my Spam folder but deleted as I had changed password so can't forward it on.

RustyBear · 22/04/2014 13:16

I would guess it's these people

play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smilefam.kand

They may not have got the email addresses from Mumsnet itself - there are all sorts of email lists in circulation/being sold, any one is likely to include a reasonable proportion of mumsnetters, simply because of the number of mumsnetters there are.

WTFlike · 22/04/2014 13:21

Nope

SunshineBossaNova · 22/04/2014 13:22

Not me. I'm probably too sweary anyway.

member · 22/04/2014 13:24

Have checked my mail, nothing like this.

IamtheZombie · 22/04/2014 13:43

Wasn't it the 14th or 15th that we hit the national news about the Heartbleed attack?

Zombie would wager that this lot picked up on the story and decided to use it as recruitment drive for their own site. Really not cricket.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 22/04/2014 14:06

No, I didn't get one.

ZingHasAHotCrossBunInTheOven · 22/04/2014 14:08

ooh, miaow!

not seen it.

but rain or shine, crappy emails or trolls I'll never leave MN!
mwahaha, you can't get rid of me!Wink

WowOoo · 22/04/2014 14:11

I din't get that email. I would have remembered.

BackforGood · 22/04/2014 14:16

Nope (although not looked in spam folder)

elQuintoConyo · 22/04/2014 14:17

Nope.
I don't check my spam folder, just delete it.
I haven't used a regular e-mail address for MN, so nothing important goes in there (no offense MN Blush )

5ofus · 22/04/2014 14:31

No. I haven't had it.

sillymillyb · 22/04/2014 14:34

Nope, I haven't got an email either. I am obviously not wanted on that there site. Your stuck with me!

BarbaraWoodlouse · 22/04/2014 14:37

Nothing, not even in my Spam folder. They might not want me but based on that stupid name I don't want them either Grin

Anniecarrieson · 22/04/2014 14:39

No

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/04/2014 14:45

It doesnt sound like a recruitment drive. Who would join a group that tells you you've been hacked?!

Did the list of passwords/mumsnetters names that briefly 'got out there' include email addys?

HanSolo · 22/04/2014 14:49

It will be purely advertising/recruitment, I doubt they'll have accessed the hacked info.

Primrose123 · 22/04/2014 14:55

No I didn't get one.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/04/2014 15:15

They need to sack their recruiters then! Shit campaign!

It's possible that Smile Mom have also been hacked and there is some weirdy trolling/spamming combo going on.

TheJumped · 22/04/2014 15:20

I didn't get it.

But I'd guess the woman who did receive it had inadvertently made public somehow her motherhood status somewhere online, so it was a guess that she would be an MNer rather than knowing so.

frasersmummy · 22/04/2014 15:26

I didn't receive it
