No emails for "I'm watching"

I have ticked the 'yes' box to get emails for new posts on my watched threads. I was getting emails but now I'm not. I've not changed any settings so why is this happening?

Hmmm this is most troubling. We've looked at the thing sternly and it's definitely still sending out emails to those who have it turned on. I've received several myself today. We'll happily take another look though!

The logic behind it is a little complicated, you'll only be notified if a new message is posted since you've looked at the thread last and you'll only be notified once even if another message is then posted.

To help us diagnose this oddity could you let us know which thread or threads you're sure you ought to have received a notification for but haven't?

^^ If I understand correctly, are you saying that when I get an email and then look at the thread, I will then get a further email when more posts are made, but if I don't look at the thread when I've had the first email, I won't get an email for subsequent posts? Can you please clarify.

What I've been finding is that when I read the new posts to a thread, if I click on "Watch this thread" even though I shouldn't need to as I'm already watching it, doing that seems to have more success in getting emails, but I'm not sure if this is working all the time.

It's very peculiar!

Yes it works exactly as you imagined.

To get to the bottom of your problem it would be really helpful to have an example of a thread or threads you're sure you ought to have received a notification for but haven't. If you'd rather not post publicly would you please email in and let us know?

Well I'm getting the emails regularly but sometimes they load at the top of the page instead of where i've bookmarked???
