(IIRC this was a wee prob last week or so)

ForgettableTampon · 03/03/2014 22:23

let's see...

ForgettableTampon · 03/03/2014 22:24

Nope

hmmm

whitepuddingsupper · 03/03/2014 22:25

If you have the tick box option under the posting box to use a different name you can do it that way and it seems to stick but it needs to be a name you already "own".

ForgettableTampon · 03/03/2014 22:26

mm yes white, that is indeed an option on the mobile site, good point

ForgettableTampon · 03/03/2014 22:33

yes here is the prev thread about this; Techs have got a few other issues on their To Do Spreadsheet to tackle first by the looks of things

In the meantime I am going to log out of MN and log back in, see what happens!

ForgettableTampon · 03/03/2014 22:35

that didn't work

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 03/03/2014 22:37

thanks ladies the new name will have to wait a while then ...

I name changed to this earlier today. It didn't work on the first few times but it was third time lucky although even then it didn't show up on my account page, I only found out when I posted Confused

ForgettableTampon · 03/03/2014 22:57

WELL JEL

BankWadger · 03/03/2014 23:07

This has annoyed me this evening. Certain things I post under another name for personal reasons. 'Changed' my name earlier, posted, went to cjange back and realised it hadn't been sodding changed at all Angry.

BankWadger · 03/03/2014 23:10

And actually this should be in site stuff so that HQ can see it and get Tech to work, so I'm going to report it so they see it.

ForgettableTampon · 03/03/2014 23:19

good plan Banky

hoohah · 03/03/2014 23:53

It worked ok earlier, I nced twice Grin today.

I typed the new name but it came up in My Account as the old one and also in the posting box, but when I pressed Post Message, the new one had worked. I wouldn't have posted if the nn had mattered though.

Forgettable · 04/03/2014 00:01

Yay

CatherineMumsnet · 04/03/2014 21:12

We've moved this over to site stuff - OP if you're still having trouble drop us an email to [email protected] and we'll try and help.

ShamTech · 05/03/2014 09:43

Just to clarify the only way to make a nickname change that 'sticks' is to go to www.mumsnet.com/member/registration-details and change it there.

If you use the option on mobile when you post a message to use one of your previous nicknames, that is only for that single post. It is not a permanent nickname change.

whitepuddingsupper · 05/03/2014 09:48

Mine has stayed for subsequent posts Tech, but only in the last few days, before that it only changed the one post.

ShamTech · 05/03/2014 09:54

whitepuddingsupper thank you. that helps a lot. we will check now

ShamTech · 05/03/2014 14:58

Ok we think we've finally got to the bottom of this. Should be fixed now thanks to all your help.

Post again here if it's still not working for you.

BankWadger · 06/03/2014 05:11

Thanks Tech. Now can you just pop over to my IP and kick them for me so I can internet on my laptop and check my name change thingy works? Gin[vodka]Grin
