Original post at top?

As I'm fairly new to MN I don't know if this has always been the case but-why isn't the original post the first shown when a thread is accessed? I always want to read the op first, and the then responses-so I always have to 'flip'.

OP posts:

Now, Southeast's post wasn't a true bump IMHO because this thread was still in Active Convos. It was a rumble.

Lems · 31/07/2006 08:49

4 if you count the other man in the house

Not really DH if you look

Lems · 31/07/2006 08:58

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO I'm a ladieeeeee. Well you see I have 3 DS and the DP makes 4!

hub2dee · 31/07/2006 09:01

Oh blimey, you going for a boys' five-a-side team then ?

Just to clarify, I am hub2dee - just in case you only realise a few months down the line.... pg brain 'n all.

Anyway, welcome to MN.

Lems · 31/07/2006 09:10

Well "Thank you"

Football team be good, have a natural left footer in the eldest.
But I think it would be the karate squad (that reminds me gi's to iron)

hub2dee · 31/07/2006 09:16

What's a gi ?

Lems · 31/07/2006 09:33

The karate suits and they a pain to do, real thick cotton. DS once a week, DP 3x a week.

hub2dee · 31/07/2006 09:40

Do they really get soooooo sweaty and dirty you need to do them so often ?

Lems · 31/07/2006 09:45

Yes DP is drippin with sweat when comes home and with all warm ups/downs they can be rolling on the floor. If I dont get it on the washin line it can take ages to dry! They have to be so thick & stiff so they make the 'crackin' noise when doin technics.

hub2dee · 31/07/2006 09:59

Sounds like a thoroughly unpleasant and also technically challenging job only suited to the frazzle-brained. Can't you get he-man-killer to do his own ?

Lems · 31/07/2006 10:07

Let him near MY washing machine? He's not been allowed in the laundry for some time now!!

hub2dee · 31/07/2006 10:11

Ah well then, bake it and eat it, Lems. I doubt he lacks the brainpower to operate your washing machine.

Lems · 31/07/2006 10:36

No he's more than capable and he does his fair share else where.

how do I delete threads from 'threads i'm on'?

hub2dee · 31/07/2006 10:46

Good. Cos even I can at least operate a washing machine... not that I use that excusive Ninja skill very often, but anyway...

To delete threads from threads you're on, you must find a spaceman, and go so fast that you go backwards in time. You must then relive the moment and choose not to type whatever it was yout typed which must be deleted.

ie. you can't.

Only thing to do is write to contactus @ mumsnet.com with a request to delete a post you have made / a thread you have started or a thread which you feel is contentious / does not adhere to acceptable use policy. They scratch their beards and control the toy chest.

JackieNo · 31/07/2006 11:39

Threads I'm on only contains threads (up to a maximum of 40 - and I've gone over that a few times) that you've posted on in the last 72 hours - after that it drops off the list, unless you post on it again.

Lems · 31/07/2006 12:12

Right........ I must sound like a right divvy.

Back now just put the bouncy castle up but looks like rain so be takin back down in bit.

hub2dee · 31/07/2006 12:26

You don't sound stupid, just a newbie prior to addiction.

PrettyCandles · 31/07/2006 12:28

BTW, if you hit the End key on your keyboard you will zoom down to the bottom of the thread, and if you hit the Home key you will zoom up to the top of the thread, whichever way up the thread, your screen or your head is, thus avoiding having to scroll for ages.
