Testing a name change

FutureDreamer · 31/12/2013 05:13

Still happening and whilst I was entering text to make this post: it just randomly sent me: no links no clicking etc

It's not happening from other websites - please sort it out MN

FutureDreamer · 31/12/2013 05:17

Oh yes I now have aliexpress as an ad on the right of my screen.

But I'm sure the site is opening without me going near it.

I'm trying to have my breakfast and am being confronted with firm cock vibrators and glow in the dark anal beads Shock

It's a little bit early Grin

arfishy · 31/12/2013 05:24

I'm getting a Mercedes-Benz ad

Marking place to see if anyone has a solution...

FutureDreamer · 31/12/2013 07:07

Happening LOADS

I'm not very techy so not sure what rpitchfo meant by it probably being our devices rather than MN? I thought iPhones/iPads couldn't get viruses?

Have my pop off blocker ON if that makes a difference?

ChinngisKhan · 31/12/2013 07:09

The thing is, if it were a problem with my iPhone, surely it would happen when I visit other websites? Is only happening with mumsnet.

arfishy · 31/12/2013 07:41

I think it'll be the ad server and I think the OpenDNS service I use is blocking it, which is why I'm not affected.

Usually hijacked ads only do the dodgy redirect on mobile devices as it makes the site administrators less likely to see the problem as they use desktops.

I think turning javascript off might stop the redirects on the ipads but it won't fix the underlying problem. I can't prove it though as I can't reproduce the problem so could be talking rubbish.

DXBMermaid · 31/12/2013 07:47

I've reported the thread to Mumsnet and I went into settings, into Safari and turned on private browsing. No idea what it means, but so far so good. Hopefully this will soon be sorted.

DXBMermaid · 31/12/2013 08:05

Private browsing does not help... Just got redirected again. Xmas Angry

ColetteTech · 31/12/2013 15:43

Hi everyone,

Sorry to hear you're being pestered with these ads. Is it fair to say that it's people on iPads outside of the UK that are being targeted?

We've blocked ads coming through from 'Ali Express', this should take effect within the next hour or so, would you be kind enough to let us know if this solves the problem?

With these kind of ads, it's really helpful if you can let us know the name of the site/company that you get redirected to. A screengrab is even better but we appreciate you might not want screengrabs of sex toy websites on your iPad Xmas Grin, although you can delete them straight after, of course.

Thanks for your patience

My iPad is in the USA, not using MN app, but has only happened once. Will try and grab a screengrab if it happens again. Thank you!
