HemmingGate: To ban or not to ban, that is the question MNHQ

CarpeVinum · 30/12/2013 17:46

Some of us would like to know if a certain politico will be banned, proper.

No rush.

We know you have a lot on your plate with ... stuff.

(I probably got two quotes mixed up in subject line. Don't panic! It's me not you. Am philistine. Italy is wasted on me. Not keen on art, prefer shopping.)

It's a rehash of the Mail article with the exception that it's named spero.

Time for a name change? Crap isn't it?

LakeDistrictBabe · 02/01/2014 16:02

Well I don't think Spero will mind, but other papers didn't actually name her... so this proves that DM has a link with Hemming?

Sue Reid comes to mind?

LostInWales · 02/01/2014 16:04

Just going on that website makes me so ANGRY. Urch, Ick. They are such idiots, I am tempted to email them and say take that name out but I presume Spero, being a lawyer and all that, can probably do that much better herself. Lots of people will see that though. Which makes me happy for a second because it is exposure, then really cross for Spero. Mostly just cross.

depankrispaneven · 02/01/2014 16:05

In typical DM fashion it manages to make up the facts by claiming that he was banned for naming the mother, not the children. Where on earth do they get that from? How difficult would it be for them to get that basic fact correct?

MadameDefarge · 02/01/2014 16:06

And the reply from MNHQ states it was the revealing of the children's identities that was the problem.

PacificDogwood · 02/01/2014 16:06

Yes, I am cross for her too and hope she won't mind too much. Or mind enough to find a clever, legaleagle way to give them one for Grin.

But it's a national newspaper.... (I use that term loosely...)

LostInWales · 02/01/2014 16:06

Can we link to the Lomellia blog page in the comments section? Or is that all too much, would be interesting to see how many hits the website got then Grin.

MadameDefarge · 02/01/2014 16:08

he is on twitter....

PacificDogwood · 02/01/2014 16:08

Oh my, lots of x-posting.

Yes, the facts are incorrect.
And again not connection made to the general misinformation he spouts

MadameDefarge · 02/01/2014 16:08

Sorry, Matt Chorley the author on the piece is on twitter...

Tigerbomb · 02/01/2014 16:08

I cant read the Birmingham Mail post - each time I click on the link it takes me to a page with no story on. It's the same result when I click on the link "most commented on" direct in the Birmingham Mail - have they taken it down?

MadameDefarge · 02/01/2014 16:10

do we post on DM? having trouble finding an email address for him

PacificDogwood · 02/01/2014 16:10

Tiger, it looks to me like the site is down.

DoItTooBabyJesus · 02/01/2014 16:11

Over, m just went back on to see what's going on. The whole site is weird. I don't think they have taken it down. The site is clearly collapsing under the traffic!

DoItTooBabyJesus · 02/01/2014 16:11

Sorry, garbled post at the start. Over, m is supposed to be tiger.....

MadameDefarge · 02/01/2014 16:12

he seems to be a busy boy. working for both the independent and the Daily mail as their online political correspondent. Who Knew?

ChasedByBees · 02/01/2014 16:12

I've learnt a huge amount from these threads, thank you Thanks

PacificDogwood · 02/01/2014 16:12

That's an... interesting combination of employers Grin

PacificDogwood · 02/01/2014 16:13

Oh my, do you think he might write something for The Independent??

MadameDefarge · 02/01/2014 16:13

indeed Pacific. hmm.

MadameDefarge · 02/01/2014 16:14

well, he can't actually write a different piece (given he would look like a complete eejit) , but he has been quite neutral, apart from the spero thing.

sanssoleil · 02/01/2014 16:16

The BM site for the JHstory keeps crashing -tried multiple different ways to get story up

It says that jh is the most trending subject thoughConfused

MadameDefarge · 02/01/2014 16:17

So apparently his main Job is Political Correspondent for the Independent.

His on the side freelance job is as Online Political Editor of the Daily Mail.

Have we talked to Private Eye yet?

CarpeVinum · 02/01/2014 16:19

OK

I have posted this comment on the DM, under moderation at the mo, so don't know if it will get published.

He posted the full names of all three of her children. The baby in Britian, and the two siters livingnwith their grandmother in Italy. The entire extract was from a non public court document. I checked.mHe also posted the court case number so I called the presidente of the Tribunale, she confirmed the documents were never intened to be made public. Not least becuase of all the sensitive information regardingnthe three minors, mlikemtheir names and dares of birth.

God you can tell it's m

lets see if we can vote it up if published to distract people from other detsils.

And yes I know it rankles to give DM clicks, but... emergency!

Andc f other people can face commenting drawing the discussion back to the ain point that would be great.

Hod nose first !
