This site is corrupt and supports abuse of its users

Hi, I just wanted to detail my recent experience on Mumsnet, at the very least there are some rogue admins here who are extremely biased/incompetent.

i posted several thoughtful posts in the current FGM discussion. Every post I made was fully within the rules, and on topic and not a single post was deleted (though admins did delete all the best posts in the thread that were written by other users).

My account was banned shortly after I received abusive personal attacks in the thread, with no action taken against the abuser who was quite clearly disrupting the discussion, and making the debate unpleasant with their breach of the site rules. it appears that others making equally civil posts have been banned too.

i made a replacement account and used this to report the posts in question as I felt staff must have missed them and made a mistake in banning me, however this account was then banned immediately after reporting the abusive posts.

Needless to say the abusive posts still remain in place without even the hint of a warning.

So in summary. Those civilly taking part in a discussion get banned from Mumsnet if their opinions aren't 100% in line with the Mumsnet feminist agenda. Similarly, basic rules such as no personal attacks do not apply if said attacks are made by a feminist towards a male. Furthermore, any victim of abuse reporting their victimisation by feminists will be banned form the site for reporting their abuse.

I'd appreciate an apology for what has occurred and for action to be taken against those making personal attacks. If , on the other hand, the above paragraph actually represents Mumnet's official site policy rather than the agenda of one rogue admin then perhaps you can please put it in writing so an right minded person knows not to use this site.

Many thanks.

Your thread title is far from civil or thoughtful

As like with everywhere, there are nasty people and there are nice people.

I guess it's a pick of the draw to who you speak to on here.

But yes, some people are very judgmental.

I blame it on all the hormones that swim around this website.

Marking place to watch this thread go 'poof'! Grin

AnyaKnowIt · 15/09/2013 19:05

Is this about the FGM thread being sexist?

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 15/09/2013 19:06

I think I need to see the original thread before I can comment. Wink

gamerchick · 15/09/2013 19:07

Every large forum has a trigger happy mod. Especially if they don't personally agree with you. You really have to develop a thick skin in public boards in general though.

Bowlersarm · 15/09/2013 19:07

Link, link, link etc....

Dam58 · 15/09/2013 19:09

LTB...EA

:)

AnyaKnowIt · 15/09/2013 19:09

Mumsnet doesn't have mods

HorsePetal · 15/09/2013 19:11

If what you have said is true then I totally understand why you feel aggrieved but I haven't read the thread so couldn't comment with certainty.

Can you give us some examples? What did you say and what was the response that you felt was a personal attack?

Feel free to try another forum.

Those civilly taking part in a discussion get banned from Mumsnet if their opinions aren't 100% in line with the Mumsnet feminist agenda.

Oh that? Yeah. That's been going on for years. It's normal. I don't even notice it any more. It's not the Mumsnet feminist agenda exactly, it's just a bunch of posters, but they are very precious and they run to teacher alot when things aren't going their way. Challenge is most definitely frowned upon. MNHQ goes along with it for an easy life. You get used to it after a while.

What was it you were saying that they didn't like then? Because chances are you were being a prat if you were in any way trying to justify or minimise any aspect of FGM.

Tee2072 · 15/09/2013 19:20

It would appear your posts in the FGM thread was about male circumcision, which is not illegal in the UK, so not germane to the thread.

You were invited to start another thread about that, if you so wished.

MN has no mods, BTW. You must have broken a talk guideline to be deleted. Perhaps review the rules?

Ledkr · 15/09/2013 19:21

There will be a good reason for what has happened to you op and it won't be what you say it is.

BoreOfWhabylon · 15/09/2013 19:25

This appears to be the thread in question.

Ledkr is spot on.

RebeccaMumsnet · 15/09/2013 19:26

Hi whatever4,

Please do mail us and we will happily explain your individual suspension.

We suspend accounts for a number of reasons, generally for breaking our Talk guidelines . We can sometimes get things wrong and will hold our hands up if this is the case on this occasion.

Please do mail us on [email protected] and we will happily take a look.

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 15/09/2013 19:26

normally the owners of the site do email people to explain why they are banning them. What did their email to you say?

Why not contact them directly to discuss the matter? We can't help you. We just live here.

[email protected]

That'll be your best bet if your aim is to communicate with the owners of the site.

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 15/09/2013 19:27

oh, x post.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 15/09/2013 19:30

So hang on - to be clear, are you saying that your posts on the FGM thread weren't deleted and are still in place? Care to let us know your username so we can see for ourselves what you're on about?

So in summary. Those civilly taking part in a discussion get banned from Mumsnet if their opinions aren't 100% in line with the Mumsnet feminist agenda. Similarly, basic rules such as no personal attacks do not apply if said attacks are made by a feminist towards a male. If...the above paragraph actually represents Mumnet's official site policy rather than the agenda of one rogue admin then perhaps you can please put it in writing so an right minded person knows not to use this site.

Oh, and this ^^ is just silly frankly. Be sensible if you want to be taken seriously.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 15/09/2013 19:32

Ah right, just looked on the link and I see it's not that hard to figure out the original username. Haven't read it yet.

AnyFucker · 15/09/2013 19:32

Corrupt ?

hahaha

That's a good'un

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 15/09/2013 19:33

Are you absolutely sure you haven't been banned before? Whatever 1,2 and 3 perhaps?
