Hello.

We've had the odd occasion recently when one or two invaders/spammers/trolls have visited MN in the wee small hours UK time - and, because we've all been tucked up, we've not been able to respond to your reports of their posts till the morning.

So, we were wondering if any overseas Mumsnetters would be willing, in the course of their usual business on the site, to keep an eye out for very obvious troublemakers, and instead of reporting as spam or a troll, delete them.

We're not looking for minute-by-minute surveillance; just folks who'd be willing to hit the delete button if necessary: a carry-on-MNing-as-you-normally-would-but-just-be-around-to-delete-a-nonstop-spammer kinda thing.

If you tend to do your Mumsnetting during UK night-time and are interested helping out do please let us know, either by posting on this thread or by mailing contactus @mumsnet.com

MadonnaKebab · 05/07/2013 12:30

I live in time zone GMT +7 and lurk a lot
Happy to help out if you let me know what you want

onelittlepiglet · 05/07/2013 12:35

Hello, I'm GMT +5 and would be happy to help too.

ZacharyQuack · 05/07/2013 12:41

I'm in NZ and am usually keeping an eye on MN during my day/your overnight and am happy to help.

Thumbwitch · 05/07/2013 14:14

I'm in Australia (same as savoy - hello!) and on here more than I probably should be during the day so could be a deleter (deletor?) as well.

And may I also say about time - I think there was a suggestion that we could do this some time ago? Glad you've decided to give it a go. :)

How does it work - do you give us a special big red button to press? Wink

MapofTassie · 05/07/2013 15:17

I'm in Australia too (Tasmania) and am available too.

spamm · 05/07/2013 15:22

Happy to help - and my name would be very ironic in this case!

spamm · 05/07/2013 15:23

Sorry - shoulda say, am in the US, East Coast time zone.

Kendodd · 05/07/2013 15:24

Don't be so tight MN, why don't you pay one of them to do it?

RafaellaNhaKyria · 05/07/2013 15:29

I'd be happy to help. I'm in the US, Texas central time five hours behind the UK. I do most of my lurking in my evening which is the dead of night for you.

onelittlepiglet · 05/07/2013 15:34

Sorry just realised I'm not GMT +5 at all! I'm five hours behind the UK so basically US east coast time.

SofiaAmes · 05/07/2013 15:39

I'm in Los Angeles. Happy to help.

RafaellaNhaKyria · 05/07/2013 15:48

onelittlepiglet if you're five hours behind, you're central time like me Grin

onelittlepiglet · 05/07/2013 17:19

Yes that's right Rafael! I'm still getting used to it - not been here too long so I still forget what time zone I'm in....!

gomummygoes · 05/07/2013 17:24

I'm in Canada (EST), happy to help when I can. Think I'm 7 hrs behind MN-time.

Tee2072 · 05/07/2013 17:27

No. Central time is 6 hours behind...

EDT = 5 hours behind
CDT = 6 hours behind
MDT = 7 hours behind
PDT = 8 hours behind

Tee2072 · 05/07/2013 17:27

Unless you are in a State that doesn't change it's clocks...

Tapirbackrider · 07/07/2013 02:00

I'm in the UK but work half night shifts; normally online between 1am and 4am.

BOF · 07/07/2013 02:18

I'm an inveterate late-nighter. I'm happy to help.

TotallyBursar · 07/07/2013 02:43

Also here overnight. And day time Blush.

The last lot of spamming was quite irksome so happy to help.
Sadly not an expat or exotic soul though so don't strictly meet your criteria.

Was it BOF that started the last thread about access to the red button? I'm sure I saw her there anyway - that was a selection of MNers ready, nay poised for action!

AdoraBell · 07/07/2013 03:08

I'm in Chile, currently 5 hours behind but that changed to 3 when clocks change. Wouldn't mind helping if it could be done from iPad or iPhone.

VestaCurry · 07/07/2013 03:11

Oooh it will be like the big red chair from the Graham Norton Show

AdoraBell · 07/07/2013 03:11

will change not changed.

FanjoPaterson · 07/07/2013 03:33

I'm in Perth (GMT+8) and would love to lend a hand Smile
