Why can't I use local?

I've tried a few times, since the launch of the new local - can't remember what happened on previous attempts but know I was unable to post.

Today I can't get past " your local nickname is already set"

That's odd. Which Local are you trying to find?

qo · 07/03/2013 11:49

Cumbria

Ah, OK.

So, you click on Add message and what do you see?

qo · 07/03/2013 12:10

set your local username, then when I select use my current nickname, it flashes up in red "your nickname is already set"

I get the same when I try to register a local username

So your nickname isn't already showing just above the message box in bold?

qo · 07/03/2013 12:21

This is a c&p of what I see where the "add your message here" box ought to be...

*Add your message here

To post on a Local talk board, you must have a Local nickname. This can either be the same as your current nickname, or a completely new one. You only need to set this once. It won't be changed after that.

You will not be able to name change on Local, so if you want to keep your anonymity on the main site, avoid giving away any nickname clues!

You won't ever need to sign in twice. The site will automatically use your Local nickname when you are posting on Local, and your main nickname when posting elsewhere.

Use my current nickname, qo

Let me create a new Local nickname for myself.*

No matter which option I choose, I see a message in red type that says "your local nickname is already set"

OK, we've asked our Tech team about this and it appears there is a small glitch.

We'll get onto sorting that out - thanks for letting us know!

Thanks, Any news?
