lucy5 · 01/05/2006 12:07

I would like that too! [smile[

Blandmum · 01/05/2006 12:08

Fair enough. I'm not TTC so I avoid that thread, both my kids are weaned, so I tend to avoid the feeding threads. I'm not interested in the craft threads.

If we had out own thread you could all avoid us Smile

Can't travel be changed to holidays, camping and travel or something?

Blandmum · 01/05/2006 12:37

Could do, but the non-campers would still get fed up of us going on about choice of tent, best bed etc (all of which isn't really travel or holidays but more like products)

Camping is travel and holidays and products and days out. So sometimes iit is hard to know where to look for information.

And sometimes it is more like chat as we fixate on stuff Grin

It is easier to avoid travel though, than chat or other subjects. I don't really care where it is, I just don't read threads that I'm not interested in. :o

suzywong · 01/05/2006 12:43

what do you have against campers MB?
Is it the bouyantly cheerful optimism that it won't pee with rain, and that the kids won't develop an ear infection on the first night, and that the portable toaster will actually come in useful?
Hmmmmm, what precisely is it?

ooooh tell us what kind of anti camping things? Defamatory slogans or forebodings and woe-betide type of things?

rickman · 01/05/2006 12:57

I imagine its more likely to be comments about matching fleeces and peaked caps and games of tennis with platic bats and balls. I haven't looked though. :)

Blandmum · 01/05/2006 13:03

I am a camper! I'm as mad about it as possible. I am just aware that there have been lots of threads over the last few days and poeple have been posting 'Yawn camping' threads as a result. Now I can see their point! If it isn't you thing, it isn't your thing.

Why not travel? Because sometimes it is products and sometimes days out. Easier to find all in one place. By the same idea you could say why a separate thread for Arts and Crafts , it could go in products or in Culture.

suzywong · 01/05/2006 13:06

oh I geddit now
It was the use of the personal pronoun "we" wasn't it Blush

You lot don't bother me btw, you rugged, hardy folk, you

Blandmum · 01/05/2006 13:09

Always a give away Suzy! Grin

Off now to brush out my beard, sink some yards to real ale and go walking in my best hiking boots, singing folk songs as I go!!

It isn't that I want to avoid non campers, but rather so that they can avoid us Smile

Shall I get my coat? (waterproof of course, with wellies!) Grin

Peachyclair · 01/05/2006 13:43

Yes please!

Lucy I'm as guilty as you, but being one of MN's most prolific obsessives I refuse to feel bad.

never know if travel or products though?

In the words of the great Mrs Doyle

Go on, go on, go on , go on, go on......

Wink

please?

WelshBoris · 01/05/2006 13:45

"being one of MN's most prolific obsessives"
Have I missed an award ceremony?

Lucycat · 01/05/2006 13:46

Peachy was formally welcomed into the obsessives club with her 'fantastic linkage to sites of camping information' this morning! Grin

madamechocolat · 01/05/2006 13:47

As a newbie to this camping lark, can I put my bid in for a separate topic, pleaseeeeeee. Grin
