Viewport bar??

Hi I think I have broked my MN as this no longer follows me down the page, I have looked in the customise bit and cannot see the option.

Help, it is driving me crazy.

I'm not MNHQ, but I did manage to turn mine off before. There's an option in customise talk to turn it on or off.

If it's not that, then I have no clue, but bumping

Have looked in customise talk but can't see the option. I'll have another look and report back.

They've gone missing - there's lots of us, don't panic it's not just you! Just disappeared yesterday

Double checked and definitely can't see option. I'm kind of glad its not just me, as that means its a MN issue not a My Shit Laptop issue. :o

Hello. Sorry for the delay in replying.

The Viewport bar has been taken down. We got shedloads of mail about how much it annoyed folk.

The viewport bar was annoying to a lot of us, Helen. But, given that it seems it was also very popular with others, how about a compromise: Re-instate it but have the default setting for it to be OFF. Then those that do want it can turn it ON and the rest of use won't have to hide it (again).

That seems a bit illogical tbh BUT what would be useful would be to find out what specifically folks were using it for. Then maybe we can look at ways to produce that on the site in a less annoying way...

Obviously, we didn't do it to upset you specifically and personally - though I'm sure it feels that way.

Please tell us what you found useful about it and we'll try to find a way to offer you that in some other way.

I found it had various uses especially when it comes to tabbed browsing as I can right click and open active convos etc from this bar or when I get bored half way through a thread its a quick click back (as my laptop goes haywire when I press the back key half the time its a piece of shit) basically it was a convienience and I can't see why people it bugged, couldn't be arsed to use the settings to switch it off?

Oh and I'm allowed to be hormonal, I'm currently being a baby machine again hehe

Agree that a good option would be to have it defaulted to off and those f us who use it can turn it on!
