Why am I getting tracking cookies

In OTBT? Luckily I have a lovely add-on in Firefox (Ghostery) which blocks them, but others might not have this facility.

Is it just in the Dustbin? you're getting them, Nick?

NicholasTeakozy · 16/09/2012 22:14

No it isn't. On this thread f'rinstance there are seven. On a thread in 'In The News' there was one. On the OTBT thread page there are six.

Surely tracking cookies should be disabled in that topic?

As an aside, if you have Chrome or Firefox, get Ghostery as an add-on. And HTTPS Everywhere.

Mmm cookies

Watching with interest.

Zombie has now downloaded and configured Ghostery.

One interesting thing she notices is that Score Card Analytics is one of the cookies now being blocked. This is the one that several of us mentioned earlier in the month as generating a pop up. HQ said they had dealt with it (and to be fair Zombie hasn't had the pop up since then) but the cookie is clearly still there.

Sorry, it's Score Card Research Beacon - not Analytics.

Hi all,

There's nothing special about OTBT in terms of cookies, tracking or otherwise - it's the same as any other bit of the site.

So we have cookies that record the fact they are logged in etc, and some advertising networks will still place cookies . But fear not, have a look at our privacy policy for more information.

If you have any further questions, then please do ask.
