Triage Reporting?? Green/Amber/Red

BrianCoxhasSmellySox · 10/07/2012 20:22

I can't remember who suggested it (albeit in a lighthearted way) but it wasn't me, however I'm making the suggestion and will take the glory

It may have been HoneyDragon or Hully (or are they the same or am I going mad?)

Anyway.

A triage system for reporting posts!

So, you press the 'report' button and you get the page that says (I've only used it once so can't remember exactly)

"tell us who your beef is with"

So, you vent your spleen and then you are given the following options:

Green - you think there is something suspicious but aren't sure, can MNHQ have a peek? (or, jokey report to MNHQ - oi Justine get your bum to this thread/Olivia bring the gin)

Amber - This person is pushing the limits, you suspect they are a troll.

Red - Highly offensive thread, racism/any kind of ism, personal insult, threat, basically the post/member needs immediate attention/action.

MNHQ for their part could then say that each 'colour' would have a designated response time.

Green - 2-3 days
Amber - 1-2 days
Red - 12-24 hours

Of course, people could then just hit 'red' and every post would be URGENT, but if there are strict guidelines with consequences it could work. ie misuse of triage system = Olivia bringing the Heavies round (or a ticking off from MNHQ, whichever is more suitable)

Can you tell I'm bored?

No

Over complicating the system.

BrianCoxhasSmellySox · 10/07/2012 20:26

But what about when you get lots of threads/complaints about 'not being responded to'.

MNHQ have a heaving inbox, busy sifting through the benign to get through to the important stuff.

I can't see how a 3 tier system is over complicating it.

Too much judgement on the part of the reporter. Too easy to abuse. No real way to police.

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 10/07/2012 20:28

You forgot

Pyscodelic - Gabbys back.

And yes, I am Hully and so's my dog.

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 10/07/2012 20:31

It was roughly

Green - spammy twat

Amber - possibility of bun throwing

Red - fucking hell get the fuck here fucking pronto

I also want report changed to Ffs!

BrianCoxhasSmellySox · 10/07/2012 20:33

See, you are so much more eloquant than I, HoneyDragonisHullysDog I may have miss understood

Yes, agree, is open to abuse.

Ok, so forget the triage - just rename 'report' as 'FFS' a-la the leather trousered one's suggestion.

Simple - see, there's me trying to turn MN Towers into a well oiled call centre Wink

We just need ease of access, simplified swearing language, and to eliminate twats from the site.

No

HullyGully is Honeydragons dog and a very nice human bean of awesomeness.

HauntedLittleLunatic · 10/07/2012 20:43

But everything I've reported has been responded to within minutes an hour or two at most. Maybe that's cos I only every report red alert style posts. Maybe they have their own triage system - delete immediately, ask a second opinion/have a MNHQ debate and keep an eye on things.

Maybe if MNHQ feel that the volume of posts is difficult to handle there would be a use but as a user I don't feel I need a self directed triage system per se.

Although it may be worth having a 'for info only' tick box which would be for users to say that they don't expect anything to be done in repsonse.

Tee2072 · 10/07/2012 20:44

As opposed to Stratters dog who wears dungarees.

Which has nothing to do with anything except it's a fact you may not know...

BrianCoxhasSmellySox · 10/07/2012 20:44

ah, so you named your dog after the legendary HullyGully.

Right Tee get yourself a dog and name it Brian - or else [evil cackle]

Tee2072 · 10/07/2012 20:45

I hate do not care for dogs.

Perhaps a crow?

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 10/07/2012 20:46

A crow called Brian would be every kind of brilliant ever!

BrianCoxhasSmellySox · 10/07/2012 20:46

ooo Haunted I like the 'for info' idea.

I have seen a few posts recently that alluded to posts not being responded to (and in the past too) so, I'm genuinely not saying MNHQ are slacking - not at all I'm just thinking of ways to help when things are going batshit (as they have been recently).

Oh...and I'm bored and thinking out loud.

OP posts:
BrianCoxhasSmellySox · 10/07/2012 20:47

I'll accept a crow.

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 10/07/2012 20:48

Excellent.

I wonder where you get a crow.

Stratters?

BrianCoxhasSmellySox · 10/07/2012 20:48
