Hello. It's recently become clear to us cos some very nice MNers mailed us to tell us so that not very many of you know about our very lovely Nearly New boards in Mumsnet Local.

Basically, it's a place where you can sell, swap or give away Nearly New stuff to MNers who live near you.

It's free to use - and you can even upload fancy pics and everything!

Do please go and have a look - and use it if you can. It's a great way to clear out clobber you no longer need but that someone else may absolutely love to have

Are we allowed to sell nappies? Smile

moomoo1967 · 26/04/2012 10:24

fab ! I am fed up of the rising postage costs on Ebay and the negative comments when the items have only been worn once and there is nothing wrong with them Smile

HelenMumsnet · 26/04/2012 10:25

Yes, MinnieBar, as long as they're nearly new/second-hand (assume we're talking reusable/cloth nappies!) ie as long as you're not selling new, never-used ones. If you want to do that, you'll have to take out a classified ad or use our main For Sale boards.

Good to know.

UnChartered · 26/04/2012 11:20

so i've got a 'starter pack' of bambino mio's which were opened, a few items used, but then discarded and the rest is sitting in a box under the stairs, where would i advertise that?

HelenMumsnet · 26/04/2012 11:24

Yep, that could go on the Nearly New boards

thanks - they'll make great pet bedding they aren't very good IMO

BornSicky · 26/04/2012 12:10

good, but my nearest MN Local is over an hour and half's drive away.

How do MN create new "local" areas? it would be great if there was a group/section nearer to me.

SuePurblyingoodVOICE · 26/04/2012 12:22

Born, are you Devon? I've asked and MNHQ are on the case re dividing Devon up a bit.

RabbitsMakeBrownEggs · 26/04/2012 12:43

Cool. Started adding stuff. Grin

ItWasThePenguins · 26/04/2012 12:45

I've also noticed the areas are a bit dodgy. The town i grew up in, every town within 10 mins has its own page, yet Nottinghamshire shares one? Can't you at least split it north-south-east-west.

Thanks

littlenuttree · 26/04/2012 12:50

I can't open the link Sad Does it not work if you're using the MN iPhone app?

SuePurblyingoodVOICE · 26/04/2012 12:53

It may take a while, this was last year I think Grin. I am assured it's on The List.

ripsishere · 26/04/2012 13:08

Nothing happens on mine, the only adverts are for a red cross first aid class and the occasional NCT sale.

HelenMumsnet · 26/04/2012 13:13

We are working on Big Plans to make Mumsnet Local better and much more exciting. More on that in the next few months but def soon.

I will take a look. I've had lots of bargains off the nearly new section at The Other Place.

HateBeingCantDoUpMyJeans · 26/04/2012 13:44

Mnhq - can you send me any guidelines you might have, was just doing some housekeeping in my local and there are a couple I'm not sure if I should be deleting or not. Thanks

Thanks for this.

I have posted something as it is too good to take to the tip but too big to post.

picc · 26/04/2012 15:01

I have to admit, I haven't been back to MN Local since you started to request postcode details. I'm not exactly sure what my objection is, if I'm honest Confused , but it just makes me click away again. Is it always going to be there? Is there a way of bypassing it?

FannyGallop · 26/04/2012 16:09

I'm selling the tumbleweed that rolls throughout my local boards
