What's happening with our new topic? Eh? Eh?

Come on, give us our Outdoorsy Shite and we can clear out of 2010 and leave it for blokes to wander around nostalgically.

TunipTheVegemal · 13/03/2012 21:22

If you don't give us what we demand by Friday we will run an advert in the national press saying you are outdoors haters and tell all your advertisers, SO THERE!
love from Nadine, I mean Tunip

(though now I come to mention it there is a National Trust advert not two inches away. Just wait till we tell the National Trust you are prejudiced against people who wear walking socks! )

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 13/03/2012 21:29

Adding my voice to the protest!

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 13/03/2012 21:31

Yes we'll gather the might of the National Trust against you. Be afraid.

OP posts:
TunipTheVegemal · 13/03/2012 21:34

we will drive sheep into Mumsnet Towers

Northey · 13/03/2012 21:43

And lambs! You'll never be able to resist our pleas when uttered through the little pink bleating mouth of a spokeslamb.

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 13/03/2012 21:46

Aww a spokeslamb.

OP posts:
Northey · 13/03/2012 21:50

With a wriggly little body and an ecstatically whirring tail!

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 13/03/2012 21:58

And another thing.

We want Matt Baker on for a Q&A

OP posts:
saggarmakersbottomknocker · 13/03/2012 22:06

Aaw - there's sheepy games and everything

OP posts:
FryingNemo · 13/03/2012 22:07

We shall not, we shall not be moved! We shall not etcetera etcetera etcetera...

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 13/03/2012 22:11

Obviously after paying due regard to camp lore and local byelaws.

Oh please MNHQ. We've proved we can look after a topic of our own and you won't be left feeding it and cleaning out for 8 years till it dies

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 13/03/2012 22:22

There'll be no trolls or sock-puppetry here, we're very low maintenance.

OP posts:
AIBUqatada · 13/03/2012 22:25

There might be sock puppetry if we can find puppeting socks that wick properly, to keep the user's true identity cool and dry on heated threads

Northey · 13/03/2012 22:35

Cushioning too, to allow the user to accept blows with equanimity.

OliviaMumsnet · 13/03/2012 22:36

Ack, I have baby lambs here in Mumsnet's country outpost, don't try and make me melt with that one Grin

Do you have a proper name for these nonpuppetting socks topic?
Other than outdoorsy shite? HmmGrin

Northey · 13/03/2012 22:38

I think we are probably open to suggestions, if the uncouthness of Outdoorsy Shite is the only remaining barrier. Or we could even think of some ourselves, if it would help.

jaquelinehyde · 13/03/2012 22:41

Grin Oh please, please, please call it outdoorsy shite!

OliviaMumsnet · 13/03/2012 22:43

We don't give a toss about uncouthness, Grin I just wonder if other likeminded folk wouldn't know where to find you under your current proposed name.
What is it you want to talk about again? Non-wicking socks? What else???

Will also remind the powers that be about your request.
Grin

Northey · 13/03/2012 22:46

There are samples of the kind of thing in our polite and responsible sit in in World Cup 2010. It's generally things like outdoor clothing, interesting nature spots, favourite short walks with children or long distance paths. That sort of thing.

GrimmaTheNome · 13/03/2012 23:03

this was my favourite (till the last couple of posts)

Wasn't 'Outdoorsy Shite' suggested by RowansMumsnet in the first place?

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 13/03/2012 23:40

Would this qualify as outdoorsy shite? Hmm

GrimmaTheNome · 13/03/2012 23:41

No, I think proper outdoorsy shite has to be from wild or farm animals.
