Mumsnet targetted junk mail

Please tell me the truth MNHQ.

I have signed up only one (I think) for a product testing thing. As a rule I don't ever sign up to marketing things - hate junk mail.

When I looked at the Boden website last year (wondering what all the fuss is about), only a few days later I received a catalogue through the door.

Last week I looked at the Joe Brown's website for the first time. Now I have received their catalogue.

So, please tell me, are my details being provided to these companies?

Also, is there some clever magic technological thing going on that specifically targets companies that I have been looking at?

Thanks. :)

I've received Boden and White Company stuff recently -- which made me think Mumsnet. I don't think it is their fault though as I have never given MN my address.

What I think is that the cumulative effect of all my posts has drenched my bit on the internet with so much female middleclassness that the Google streetmap robo-dog has sniffed me out and is playing fetch with Yummy Mummy bullshit that I don't want.

Hello ShagoBile. No, we would never give any company your details without your prior permission.

You can read more about our Privacy Policy here.

Are you a closet hotch-potcher then? Wink

Thanks Helen, wanted to check but was hoping that'd be the case.

What's a hotch-potcher? Will google...

Careful, your doormat may never recover...

Um, it says it's a mixed stew. Confused

You obviously haven't read that Boden catalogue, have you? Smile

Straight in the recycling, it's wasted on me.
