What browser are you using? We'll let Tech know..

Also, we've moved this into Site Stuff.

Me too.

It freezes the whole laptop and I have to Ctrl Alt Delete my way out.

I'm using Internet Explorer and Vista.

Pudden · 17/01/2012 09:06

Same here. I thought it was just my crappy laptop

Pudden · 17/01/2012 09:09

also the screen 'loses' the page I'm on constantly and I get the message

"a problem with this website caused internet explorer to close and reopen this tab"

Tech · 17/01/2012 16:39

Hi there, This is normally a problem when something on a page interacts badly with an "add-on" in your web browser (like an added search bar or similar.) This microsoft page has hints on how you can try figure out what is causing the particular problem.

Tech · 17/01/2012 16:41

Sorry, hit post too soon. Try starting IE without any add-ons (according to MS do this this way: Click the Start button , click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). )

Then see if the page displays OK. Let us know if you continue to have problems. Thanks.

crazynanna · 17/01/2012 16:46

Do I tick "don't use recommended settings" or "do use recommended settings"?

crazynanna · 17/01/2012 16:47

Forget that last message....it was something else Blush

It says the add ons are not on Confused

Pudden · 17/01/2012 20:52

hi tech
have done as you said and got this...

*Internet Explorer is currently running without add-ons

All Internet Explorer add-ons, such as ActiveX controls or toolbars, are turned off. Some webpages might not display correctly.
To continue to your home page, click the Home button.
To browse using add-ons, close Internet Explorer and then start it again. *

so looks like it's already running as suggested yet still does this

OP posts:
Tech · 17/01/2012 21:03

Hi Pudden, no that means that this time you started IE it's running without Add-ons, not that it is doing that generally. If you leave it running like that, does the problem still happen?

Pudden · 18/01/2012 09:11

yes it does

Hi Pudden, Sorry it seems like it might be something particular to your PC / installation of Internet Explorer. Have you tried using Google Chrome or Firefox instead of internet explorer? That might help.
