Inspired by the 11 people who completed the first survey from this thread: Can we have a like button on every posters post an expanded survey of suggestions has been put together.

Anyone without a sense of humour is invited to click Hide this thread, frothing beserkers are invited to start their own thread in AIBU and the rest of you please click www.surveymonkey.com/s/MM3TBDD. You get one go at the survey.

Results will be published on Friday.

Would that not be quite complex technically?

I was on a forum once where people could rate threads out of 5 and it caused no end of a stink. I'm very against like buttons, will go find the original thread and say so.

KatieMorticiaton · 12/10/2011 21:54

Well yes Justine but DS's childcare providers do insist on actual cash money WinkGrin

What are the benefits like? Is there a waterfall cardigan and a badge uniform?

fab survey Katie Grin

KatieMorticiaton · 12/10/2011 23:01

I think you might be right Maryz with the addition of a very occasional toss of a bourbon cream at one of the minions. That's why they don't want me doing HR. I'd be all blah blah employment law, blah blah minimum wage, blah blah blah non-biscuit related motivation, blah blah health and safety.

I want a 'like' button just so I can like the post about having a 'ffs' button. Far more useful IMHO. Grin

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 12/10/2011 23:58

Ok, I'll admit I did the survey in the opening minutes and haven't posted on this thread till now. i have posted on others; am I still a lurker?

570 responses.

Sorry I missed some posts when I went out earlier. All offers of tat valued items for the prize fund gratefully accepted.

None of the links are dodgy Shock but only the second link to the questions was working because I forgot to make the first one public.

I am really surprised that this is so close. I hope someone who has voted in favour of the Like button (apart from mistle, I mean. I think hers is, ironically, the only articulated pro-Like position on this thread) comes and explains why the actual jeff one would not want to bother writing "I agree with Hec " or actually share an opinion, but still want to 'participate' by way of clicking an anonymous Like button? What is the point of that? Nobody cares if you like something if they don't know why, it doesn't add to the debate, and nobody knows that it was you anyway. So...why? Honestly?

GetDerridaThePeskyLurkers · 13/10/2011 07:07

Yes, quite.

Maryz I think I you!

Every single utterance on Mumsnet should be carefully thought out, intellectually validated and beautifully articulated. A like button is far too easy.....

long time lurker, 67th time poster

AWimbaWay · 13/10/2011 08:28

I voted for a like button Grin

Reasons;

I am lazy

Sometimes a poster or posters write something exactly as I would have put it, a thread would be most dull if 50 posts were taken up with people writing 'I agree with ...'

It's an easy way of seeing if a certain piece of advice, product, opinion is popular or unpopular without it coming down to which poster has the loudest voice.

It's almost an on the spot version of this survey.

I'll try to think of more but I was supposed to leave for school 5 minutes ago!

And having said all that I don't really care, was just when I did the survey I thought 'yeh, I'd probably use that'.

MrsDreadfullyMorbidMausoleum · 13/10/2011 09:24

But AWimbaWay you could take over from Hecate!

Just imagine pages of I agree with AWimbaWay.

You could be next queen of MN!

BTW Katie, have you lost weight? You are looking delightfully pert from this angle. Great hair too. And your intelligence is legendary. Now gimme the wine. It's wine o'clock here. Gimme gimme gimme

Scores on the doors 579. Contentious Q1 has opened up with a difference of 12 votes now which is a swing to the other side of 13 votes. It has the narrowest of margins.

Everything is still to play for and just under 25.5 hours to go.

What about a 'fuck yeah!' button
