Inspired by the 11 people who completed the first survey from this thread: Can we have a like button on every posters post an expanded survey of suggestions has been put together.

Anyone without a sense of humour is invited to click Hide this thread, frothing beserkers are invited to start their own thread in AIBU and the rest of you please click www.surveymonkey.com/s/MM3TBDD. You get one go at the survey.

Results will be published on Friday.

I just wanted a like button, just for a second. For Mrs Dreadfully's name. It's BRILLIANT.

nightshade · 12/10/2011 19:07

who said you can.t see me? in the original post i never implied anonimity. more than happy to put my name to a thumbs up (cheers ng).

katiem apology gratefuuly received.

DerridasDerriere · 12/10/2011 19:08

I am not sure this is to enable lurkers to give opinions anonymously, or just a bit of fun?

KatieMorticiaton · 12/10/2011 19:38

Definitely just a bit of fun. There's a link to the original thread on the OP if anyone fancies a serious debate.

This thread is for posting Done or Best survey ever or Katie you are so clever and generally wonderful and you've always been my favourite. Remember there is a bottle of Piss-a Grigio (collection only) for the biggest sycophant a poster chosen at random.

Katie you are brilliant.

I love this thread, the survey, and you.

I bet you look like Kate Middleton an' all.

Best mumsnetter ever. EVER. EVER

That sycophantic enough?

KatieMorticiaton · 12/10/2011 20:59

If only you had said "I bet you have an even better arse than Pippa Middleton".

So near and yet, so far. Sad

GetDerridaThePeskyLurkers · 12/10/2011 21:04

Not you, Nightie. (may I call you that? It's affectionate)

but case in point...497 voters, and well. How many of us actuallly speaking out on this thread, or even the other?

Most of the votes are from lurkers on the thread.

I tell you what I don't even care how many people like my posts. That's not why I write them. It's so, so pointless.

JustineMumsnet · 12/10/2011 21:07

There's more to life than money Smile.

PinotScreechio · 12/10/2011 21:14

Translation - money is shite.

To be fair I voted twice. So only 499 voters.

GetDerridaThePeskyLurkers · 12/10/2011 21:26

I know Mary. It requires suspension of disbelief...which the like button would just blow out of the water.

mothmagnet · 12/10/2011 21:30

Maryz, yes you're right, the penny has finally dropped with me about like/dislike.
No that I don't like lurkers, just that an anonymous reader could influence how a thread is perceived.

RustyBear · 12/10/2011 21:39

I only actually did it 4 times, I think - once on iPad at home, once on iPhone, just to see if it was a different ip address (it was) and then I opened it on 4 PCs at work to experiment, but I only completed it on 2 of them, I think. and that was because it had a nasty tendency to make IE freeze if you tried to close it without completing, so it was quicker just to do the quiz....

GetDerridaThePeskyLurkers · 12/10/2011 21:41

I love it when you get all techy, Rusty Grin

world of your own entirely, isn't it!

TheSkiingGardener · 12/10/2011 21:43

Maybe you should only be able to like posts on a thread if you have commented on it. So you keep the conversation and the mutterings of "ooh yes good point" between those actually involved?
