Why does MN lose my post when I am logged in and click 'post my message'?

Here's what happened this morning (and other mornings)

  1. log in
  2. read posts people have made on threads I'm on
  3. click 'add message'
  4. write lovely long post
  5. click 'post message' AND MN ASKS ME TO LOG IN AGAIN AND LOSES MY POST.

How can I stop this happening? Sorry if this is a repeat of another thread. I did a search but couldn't find a relevant topic.
Thanks

Hi Jaffa, sorry we are aware of this problem and working on a fix. The basic issue is that if you don't do anything on the site for a while, it thinks you've gone away and logs you out. You could try get round it by clicking on "Remember me until I log out" when you do log in.

If that doesn't work, until we have a fix in place you could try copying and pasting your post into windows notepad or the mac TextEdit program just before you post. That way if MN loses the post, you can log in again then paste your post back into the MN post window.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Tech. The timeout isn't very long then.

The time out is less than 5 minutes and it is driving me BONKERS!

It was fine all of last week and then as soon as the upgrade was done last night, it went back to losing all of my posts.

This is the third time I've tried this one and its not a very long post!

AnyFucker · 18/07/2011 08:54

this is bugging me too

AnyFucker · 18/07/2011 08:54

I need to literally post something every 5 mins or it logs me out
