Just wondering why?

Have you forgotten, can you not afford it, do you just think it's not necessary?

Not trying to force anyone to pay, just curious

suzywong · 02/11/2005 15:51

northerner · 02/11/2005 15:52

Why would anyone pay subs but then ask not be listed?

DinoIsBack · 02/11/2005 15:53

I meant, sorry that I'm not trying to kick it off.

hunkermunker · 02/11/2005 15:55

Good job I didn't rise to it like I could've done then, eh, Dino

DinoIsBack · 02/11/2005 15:57

I could see your hackles rising from here, hunkermunker .

hunkermunker · 02/11/2005 15:58

hacklemunker, eh?

Or would that be hacklemackle?

HRHQoQ · 02/11/2005 16:00

Can't afford it ATM

Mum2girls · 02/11/2005 16:00

I haven't. Have seen the request on the homepage and thought - 'yeah I must do that......but no, cos I will kick the habit after this one last look at active convos....oooh look I bet that thread's kicking off.......'

puff · 02/11/2005 16:00

northerner - I've paid subs and asked not to be listed last time I paid. Will do the same this time - hate being on lists.

ddd · 02/11/2005 16:03

zippitippitoes, I am guessing that it was my comments on the thread about the server being unavailable that you didn't like. Only thing is, I never said that only those who paid were entitled to comment. I even spelt it out explicitly in my second posting. Besides, I don't speak for MN - I just host the site as a community-spirited gesture.

"I mean there is lots of advertising isn't there."

ROLFMAO - you need to get "out" of the MN world a little more often - MN really has relatively few advertisers compared to mamy free sites (either that or I just don't notice them all LOL).

zippitippitoes · 02/11/2005 16:06

ddd

that's true

what I meant to say was that i understood no one should comment but least of all those who didn't pay

Flum · 02/11/2005 17:55

I think Cod should have to pay double

cupcakes · 02/11/2005 18:07

well I pay and I want my name on the list!

nutcracker · 02/11/2005 18:08

Can't afford it.

soapbox · 02/11/2005 18:10

Nah - we all pay extra to have Cod entertain us!

And my God does she deliver

Worth every penny!

where is it?

nooka · 02/11/2005 18:23

I have made a contribution, but didn't really want to pay lots up front because I wasn't sure how much I'd be here. As it turns out, far too much! Web-sites are very hard to make money out of (dh is a web-designer) so I am happy to make a contribution, because this is a fun place to be. As I come straight to chat I have seen no advertising (oh except for the little bits above some of the threads). I would prefer to set up a smaller regular monthly subscription to a large annual one.

Tortington · 02/11/2005 19:03

i don't pay and i'm very happy with that situation.

if ever i felt pressured or it became compulsery i think i may use another site and click their adverts

katymac · 02/11/2005 19:30

I agree with Nooka - a fiver a month doesn't hurt but £50 or £60 is crippling

Please MN - can we pay by DD or standing order??

PLEEASE

Hattie05 · 02/11/2005 19:36

I don't pay, we don't have enough money to spend on our food bill, let alone me pay for the luxury of viewing a website.
I use the internet for work, pleasure and information finding. The internet is a big place and i don't intend to pay anymore than my broadband costs for its use. If websites have a fee then i simply don't use them a free alternative can always be found. The fact that this is voluntary, tells me i don't have to pay and so therefore use it but don't pay. If i were to win the lottery, maybe i'd make a donation to the sight, but untill that day arrives i'm afraid i won't be paying subs.

nutcracker · 02/11/2005 19:38

I would pay if it were per month by DD too.
