Advanced search is knackered again

Won't allow me to choose topics.

Hi Feenie, do you know what browser you are using? Is it Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, something else?

Also, when you say it won't allow you to choose topics, what exactly is happening? Are the topic lists not visible? If they are, can you click a topic in the list on the left? If you can, what happens when you click the arrow to move it to the box on the right?

Internet Explorer. When I highlight the 'choose topics' circle, nothing happens.

Tech, I am using IE.

I do a search, look at a thread, find it is not the thread I wanted after all, hit the "back" button to go back to the search and am told the Web page has expired.

Very tedious, as then have to put all the search details in again.

Thanks. Do you know what version of IE you have by any chance? To find out, click help on the menu then "About...." at the bottom of the menu that pops out. You should see a product name and a version number. I only need the start of the number - 6, 7 or 8.

Hmm. I can see the problem with clicking the topics. Sorry, but we might not be able to fix till someone is in the office tomorrow.....

I am on Internet Explorer 7.0 and it's not working for me either.

If I click on select topics the two boxes come up but if I select the actual topic and click on the arrow, the topic name will not move into the other box.

I too have the same problem as BalloonSlayer. I have IE 8

I have IE 8 and have the same problem. I get the drop-down boxes to choose topics but can't get any topics to move across to the other box.

That does sound annoying. I'll point the techs back in this direction.

Hi there, I just had a look at this and can see what is going on. Moving the topics only works if you click exactly on the > sign, not on the rest of the purple button. In IE, the > is very small and easy to miss. We'll fix that so that it's a bit less fussy - it should let you click anywhere on the button. In the meantime, try clicking directly on the > and it should work.
