I have to change my car in october and have to order a new one now, the Grand Scenic has a 250 advance payment and the Xsara is nil advance payment (motability)
The Grand Scenic is 7 seats, the Xsara is 5 seats. I don't know what the boot spaces are like and would like some nfo. before I go to testdrive...
Thanks

Loved my picasso, plenty of boot space and a nice comfy ride for all.
wish we had never changed it actually

sparklymieow · 13/07/2005 16:18

Will the boot take a wheelchair and a buggy?

OP posts:
spykid · 13/07/2005 16:19

we used to easily fit in a large graco double buggy if that helps

spykid · 13/07/2005 16:19

thinking back I would say yes

sparklymieow · 13/07/2005 16:19

and shopping??

OP posts:
spykid · 13/07/2005 16:21

seats slide forwards to increase boot space so should be ok
i think/.....

sparklymieow · 13/07/2005 16:23

and can you get three carseats in the back ok???

OP posts:
spykid · 13/07/2005 16:24

yes, sis in law has one and she has 3 kids

Janh · 13/07/2005 16:27

Grand Scenic is miles bigger, mieow - ordinary Scenic is same size as Picasso, Grand Scenic has longer wheelbase and extra space behind third row of seats, with 3rd row removed boot would be vast.

£250 over 3 years (?) isn't a lot really. I would get the Grand Scenic every time. (Unless there are other alternatives?)

clary · 13/07/2005 16:27

3 car seats in our picasso no prob.
room for a big 3-wheeler and lots of shopping as well.
do you need 7 seats? if not the 5-seater is easier to manoeuvre etc.

LIZS · 13/07/2005 16:31

Do check on Picasso specifications about the seats though - some models only have the centre one sliding but with the top of the range it is all 3. We looked at one the other week and are also comparing the Picasso and old Scenic.

sparklymieow · 13/07/2005 16:43

I would prefer a 7 seater, as when I go out with Misdee, I can't take any of my kids now she has 3. I currently have a Peugeot Partner Combi which is a small MVP.

Janh · 13/07/2005 16:45

I was going to say that, mieow - you could fit all 6 kids in (but then you'd be on your own with them all, lol)

spykid · 13/07/2005 16:45

scenic if you want 7 seats

sparklymieow · 13/07/2005 16:45

I am edging toward the Grand Scenic if I am honest, but want to get as much info. on both.

OP posts:
sparklymieow · 13/07/2005 16:46

also want sometyhing that I can get suitcases in and wheelchairs when we go on holiday

OP posts:
spykid · 13/07/2005 16:47

not as much boot space in scenic when all 7 seats are in use

sparklymieow · 13/07/2005 16:48

we would be able to remove the extra 2 seats tho, wouldn't we??

OP posts:
spykid · 13/07/2005 16:49

they fold under the floor

sparklymieow · 13/07/2005 16:49

I currently have 1.9 litres engine, will I be ok driving something with a smaller engine size??

OP posts:
sparklymieow · 13/07/2005 16:49

ooooo really, that sounds great!

Grand Scenic review from Ch 4

Picasso (old review)

LIZS · 13/07/2005 16:53

Do you get to test drive ? The Grand Scenic would probably feel relatively less powerful because it would be heavier.

Janh · 13/07/2005 16:56

Yes, it would - any chance of getting one of the diesels instead?

sparklymieow · 13/07/2005 16:58

yes I can test drive now and order it now.
