Phil n teds! How much? Where from?

So I think I'm converted...

Main attraction for us is downsizing - we can get the phil n teds and use it as a three wheeler and a double therefore selling current single 3 wheeler and marco sky.

But where do I get it from? Are there -gasp- shops in the UK that sell it or is it strictly online only ?

And (deep breath) how much am I going to pay?

Had a quick nose on ebay, 'lightly used' ones are going (with doubles kit) for about £285, new singles for the same, but I'm fussy and they're in red which I don't like!

Also what do I need? Want it for two toddlers atm, BUT we're planning a second baby asap. Should I just get the baby bits now? Will they definately be available in the future??

sweetkitty, tell your dp that qa standard good double with raincover etc cost £200l, this one with raincover and 2nd seat costs 350, but you can use it for so much longer and it holds it value well.

Think it's suitable from 6 months, Misdee, which means no good for me

The Cosatto Duo (I think) is suitable from birth though.

misdee · 09/07/2005 20:20

get an e3 HM lol.

Turning circle in my hall may prevent me from that (isn't a hall - is a lobby, about three feet square...!). Am thinking we ought to move house... DH SO pleased...!

sweetkitty · 09/07/2005 20:21

HM - you following me around threads tonight I think I'm sad I'm obsessed with double buggies, keep eyeing them up on the street (wonder how I've not been arrested yet)

hunkermunker · 09/07/2005 20:21

Thanks, Lockets. Still not much good unless I don't go out for two months after DB is born!

hunkermunker · 09/07/2005 20:22

Sweetkitty

misdee · 09/07/2005 20:23

it can turn easily. can turn it in my hall as it just spins.

hunkermunker · 09/07/2005 20:24

My hall is has stairs a door's width into it, the wall to the right and the door to the front room to the left. It is literally a patch of floor.

sweetkitty · 09/07/2005 20:26

what colour you getting HM???

hunkermunker · 09/07/2005 20:27

LOL SK! Not sure I am yet... Have to convince DH it's a good idea to spend that much on a second...hang on, third...pushchair! Actually, have to convince myself first!

misdee · 09/07/2005 20:28

its a good idea!!

thing is, i need a smaller one for my parents car, so i have got a zapp on the way

sweetkitty · 09/07/2005 20:32

whats a zapp? post a link misdee

me too HM this will be pushchair number 3 for me too, bought a graco deluxe travel system for DD but felt it was too big so have got a Maclaren Techno XT which I love.

sweetkitty · 09/07/2005 20:33

they do hold their value though - have a look on ebay at 2nd hand ones

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 09/07/2005 20:33

just spend AGES looking at doubles on the net.... like the look of the cossatto duo.... but like the marco too..... confused now. Cost is a big thing as cant afford silly amounts on a buggy.

misdee · 09/07/2005 20:35

zapp is a single pushchair, which can be used with my sisters car seat to make a travel system. will behandy for hospital, taxi's etc as no-one driving atm. zapp

sweetkitty · 09/07/2005 20:39

have seen these before pretty mad looking

misdee · 09/07/2005 20:40

i like things mad looking lol. but i alsop wanted something small.

geogteach · 10/07/2005 18:44

Sweetkitty deffo recomend E3. I vowed never to own a double buggy and managed it between one and two, but number 3 was a bit sooner than intended, and DD couldn't walk when he was born so had no choice.

harrypotpot · 16/07/2005 15:40

i love the look of the E3

It seems to do everything i want it to do - my only concern is that the when baby goes into the toddler seat it can't lie down - has any one found this a problem?

harrypotpot · 16/07/2005 17:18

bump

harrypotpot · 16/07/2005 22:13

...

Boo2301 · 20/08/2007 15:34

I have owned the marco sky and now have the phil and ted e3 (the marco sky snapped in half!!!) i would say from experiencing both the phil and ted is by far superior, its lighter and folds down easier, Its much better on grass on bumpy terrain. Plus its eaier to get in the car as its not as long as the Marco sky which is not very small when folded.
The only problem with the phil and ted is the back seat does not lean back although i solved this problem with a neck pillow, ( although a reclining version of the second seat is available now)
I do not find the phil and ted heavy at all and not a problem to get in to cars etc
