saw something on telly for shiny hobs - was it soad water?

use a cloth and get down on my hands and knees for my kitchen floor - but it is quite small!

janeybops · 23/06/2005 13:41

soda water

spub · 23/06/2005 13:42

Barkeepers friend is the dog's wotsits for stainless steel. Then, if I'm having a truly Bree Van Der Kamp kind of moment, I go over it with a squish of windowleen and buff like a maniac with paper towel.
Kitchen floor - regular mop and bucket (Vileda supermop?) with boiling water and some bleach - also sometimes spray cilit bang or kitchen power spray on to the floor itself and wait a bit before cleaning. I have lino so that works well - dunno about for other surfaces.
I am a tragic cleaning obsessive. My dh reckons that "How Clean is your house" is like watching soft porn to me......he's kind of right....

nailpolish · 23/06/2005 13:43

ive been in the garden all day , its one of those rare moments when both dd's are asleep so i thought i would get some housey things done (but ill prob end up sitting at the computer the whole time now!)

never thought of baby oil, will try it now! (well, soon as i finish chatting)

these flash mops seem quite dear

I have one of those flash mop things and it's a load of arse.

Is it the one with the flappy removable bottom bit and the side scrapper bit?

I like it as a mop, but tbh I'd need to get on hands and knees and scrub every day before mopping to keep the floor clean. For example, I spill a sauce and it won't clean it up.

nailpolish · 23/06/2005 13:52

wish i could have that! i would do mine twice a day but i have so much space taken up with the table and chairs - and i cant be arsed moving the table chairs etc

(im such a lazy cow!)

Mama5 · 23/06/2005 14:04

I find mopping with vileda mop and flash with boiling water works well on floor. Wipes leave a residue.

For sinks I use some bathroom foam stuff fo a quick and effective solution

nailpolish · 23/06/2005 17:12

the wipes are rubbish. have binned them after using them for the last time.

anyone want to pop round and see my lovely hob?
