DSs love ours! DS1 had one for his first holiday to Menorca aged 7 months and sat/slept/played in it happily for hours. It attracted a lot of attention from passing children too. He still likes playing in it now (aged 4) and we still use it on holiday as it's great for shade. Also works as wind protection provided you peg it down with the tent pegs!

It's a reasonable size. It's the pop up sun tent rather than the Junior Cabana or family one. It came from Boots or Mothercare I think.

wiltshirelass · 21/05/2003 09:50

could never keep any of mine in it. and when they were babies they just lay in it and got hotter and hotter - I thought the shade of an olive tree worked better as it at least let cooling breezes through (and was nice for them to look up into and listen to).
horses for courses. I have a spare (almost unused one) that you can have!!

SoupDragon · 21/05/2003 09:53

This is similar to ours.

wiltshirelass · 21/05/2003 09:55

I won't need it, I honestly never used it with the others despite repeated and regular beach holidays. My next one will be 6 months by the time he/she hits the beach (caribbean) and it will be much too hot to use there.
I'm assuming it is still in the attics in its pretty plastic carrycase - I'll have a look and if it is its all yours...

SoupDragon · 21/05/2003 10:04

Never had it get hot enough to cook pizza in ours Must have been doing something wrong!

well in bournemouth it will be acting more as a windbreak and rain shelter so will probably be perfect!! (would do a smiley face if I knew how)...

now lets see. why are we going to the caribbean next feb? oh yes, the England tests!
One good thing about cricket - they do play it in the prettiest places...

We just got one (same as the Boots one SoupDragon linked to) from John Lewis Direct. With £10 off - thanks Mumsnet.

janh · 21/05/2003 10:33

thought about trying these but how do you keep the kids in them??
We just use a parasol or even normal umbrella - beach umbrella works better though.
Edgarcat - surely a bit optimistic - you are based in UK, no??

wiltshirelass · 21/05/2003 11:18

when no.3 turns up, dd will be five and a half and ds will be almost 3.
this is definately the last...
