Help me out, people. DS1 (nearly 4, 16kg) still needs to be in a buggy (some SN, mainly just bloody minded, lol). DS2 is only 6 months, so obviously does too.

Was going to get a P&T but DH put his foot down. So, I'm considering an urban detour side by side. I REALLY don't want a crappy Graco type tandem.

Anyway, advise me - WWYD?

(Also said I will buy the buggy pod that is on the FS board, but don't think it will fit my Vigour.)

JigglyPiggy · 21/07/2009 11:07

morning everyone,

it is quiet on here lol

NaccetyMac I have only had brief experience of doubles (crappy graco that i struggled to give away!)

is it the cost of p&t your dh objects to?

Continuing the BJCM theme the double version looks good

Hoping to get out to post office shortly but its raining again. Therefore need ideas for purchasing browsing

lillypie · 21/07/2009 11:09

Hi if I were you I would look at a MB.UD doubles are lovely to push but wider than a lot of twins.I also question if a 4yr old would have enough room.

The MD terrains have lovely big seats and are narrower and lighter than an UD.The older style ones often come up on ebay very cheap.

lillypie · 21/07/2009 11:11

oops MB terrains

Knickers0nMaHead · 21/07/2009 11:17

i wouldnt get an ud. Dd looked squashed in ours at 18months and it was too wide for the paths around here.

lillypie · 21/07/2009 11:36

My 2.4 DD is fine in the UD but I only use it for walking in the country (and it is fab for that) but it is wide.

NaccetyMac · 21/07/2009 11:42

Yes, it's the cost. Maybe next month! lol. So the MBs are out.

I had a Cosatto Duotraveller which was fine until the back wheels dropped off, lol. He wasn't squashed in that. And I HAD a P&T, and I sold it because I'm a fool .

carrielou2007 · 21/07/2009 12:24

Morning!! My stupid dongle at work never flamin works but working at the mo and can get on and it's still quiet on here!!!

basl · 21/07/2009 12:28

hi everyone, i have not posted for a while as i have been trying to be good and not get the urge to buy a new pushchair. Well i am on to ask for help as i have my first puncture on my baby jogger elite. I was down my local park which has just been built and would you believe it was covered in glass. Infact i could not avoid glass anywhere in the park. What do i do??? Help never had air tyres before ????? Does anyone want to buy a baby jogger city elite in black ?????

lillypie · 21/07/2009 12:35

I am trying to de-buggy myself as DD will get in one less and less often.

I am down to MB for long walks and carboot sales and the Triumph for when I am late for the bus to work.

The zapp is doing nicely on ebay and I am casually trying to sell the UD double.

I have started eyeing up funky shopping trolleys for when I no longer have any excuse for a pram

nicolamumof3 · 21/07/2009 13:00

morning all! sorry been a bit busy and v.much distracted from prams atm. i think it will be this way for a while as we have....just booked our honeymoon!!!!!

Just a week in Turkey but to a beautiful little boutique hotel which looks to be in a stunning location v.small and quiet and most importantly..no kids! i will get to sunbathe not done that for five years!

JigglyPiggy · 21/07/2009 13:36

nicola i am so but it is your honeymoon so I guess i won't get to jealous of a holiday in the sun with no kids!

hopefully the rain has eased a bit so hoping to get out and wear DD out for a bit but i bet within minutes shes moaning about walking

basl - thats why theres no point going to our local park as its always covered in glass and god knows what else. Have'nt a clue about puncture repair but hoping someone will be along with advice as I now have the frog to think of

JigglyPiggy · 21/07/2009 13:38

lillypie - what are the funky shopping trolleys? have you got a link as ive not heard of those before!

nicolamumof3 · 21/07/2009 13:48

i've no idea about puncture repairs either? i bike shop should help then i'd get the tyres slimed to reduce the risk in the future?

i never had a puncture tho? guess i've been lucky?

oh jiggly DH and i have NEVER been away on our own in 5yrs together so it will be lovely. We did go to Zante for my 30th but i was 7m pg with Tate so not really the same as this will be. lie ins, nice breakfasts, sunbathing undisturbed, late nights....oooh bliss!

horsemadgal · 21/07/2009 13:48

basl, you get get your wheels slimed. I never have but meant to be fab.
Pram or cycle shop can do it or believe you can buy the stuff and do it yourself.

horsemadgal · 21/07/2009 13:49

Great minds eh Nicola!!

Your honeymoon will be fab, bet you miss the kids though

basl · 21/07/2009 13:52

horsemadgal thanks i remember now somone mentioned this before. Do you think if i took the wheels in to a cycle shop they would repair the tyre it is completely flat.

nicolamumof3 · 21/07/2009 13:59

oh yes we will miss them loads but it will still be a good break for us, i can't imagine ever having the opportunity again until they are much older.

claret1980 · 21/07/2009 14:06

You will have a great time Nicola! Especially with no kids.

I'm thinking that I may not really need the Zapp after all. Might sell it before we go away. Not sure though. I really cannot be bothered taking the P&T as I'm sure that dd will get really lazy and want to get in. Will be fine with the Pulse me thinks.

Still raining here, hate the crappy weather. Got soaked in it this morning getting bread from the shop.

horsemadgal · 21/07/2009 14:06

Yes Nicola, def got to take the chance when it comes along.

basl yes they will surely fix it for you.

basl · 21/07/2009 14:08

nicolamumof3 your week away sounds so lovley. I have just been catching up on all your post about your wedding any your songs were lovley and what about that dress it's stunning. Thanks for the advice on the wheels.

nicolamumof3 · 21/07/2009 14:13

lillypie · 21/07/2009 15:58

Hi Mrs Eden I am so glad you are going to have a honeymoon

JP funky shopping trolleys here and here and here

could become a whole new obsession

npg1 · 21/07/2009 16:58

Has anyone seen the Cath Kidston maclaren buggy? It's absolutley gorgeous but not sure I can spend £210 on it for my nearly 3 yr old?! I want it though

nicolamumof3 · 21/07/2009 17:15

i think its gorgeous too, but maybe a bit too girly for my boys.
