I am thinking of slimming my collection down to one but beyond the Maclaren Techno XT I am not too familiar with something which ticks all of these boxes:
Light
Sturdy
Recline even if just slightly
Compact fold
Ok shopping basket
Easy to push
Suitable for a 2.5 yr old
Under £100
Handle of at least 106cm

Current XT is too expensive of course.
Any other suggestions?

I got a Silver Cross Pop brand new on eBay for £50 and I think t fits all your categories

baby jogger mini city

CMOTdibbler · 21/05/2009 21:53

We have a Hauck one a bit like this and it has 110cm handle height, reclines etc

thisisyesterday · 21/05/2009 21:54

jane energy

FlyMeToDunoon · 21/05/2009 21:58

Thanks I did look at Pops in Mothercare but didn't care for the quality although the non-foam handles are nicer.
I do not like the look of the BJCM it looks a bit plasticky to me and it is too expensive. Do you have one CarGirl?
Never seen that Hauck and 110cm handles are amazing at that price. Wonder where I could see one in the flesh.

Yes I had a second hand energy for a while and quite liked it-very XT like but cheaper. Hmmmmm

Yes I did have a BCMJ and I agree it does look pasticky however in real life it is absolutely fabulous, very light, a dream to push, my 4 year old could fit in it etc etc worth looking at 2nd hand.

CMOTdibbler · 21/05/2009 22:04

Ours is solid and well made. No idea where stocks them as we got ours from Kiddicare as a pushchair high enough for DH to push and that fitted in his car.

FlyMeToDunoon · 21/05/2009 22:04

Hows the shed CarGirl? Sounds like you still have need of it.

I think the Pop is sturdier than it appears. I've had one for a year and although it stays in the car, it's been used nearly every day and looks like new.

CarGirl · 21/05/2009 22:08

well it's a bit full again, got a few on ebay. However there are no pushchairs in the loft room anymore!

I've got a micralight to sell? Does that tick your boxes? it does have a natural recline on it.

FlyMeToDunoon · 21/05/2009 22:13

I did have a look at the Micralite. I am not keen on 'natural' recline though and neither is DD. I thought they did have a proper recline.
Might go into Mothercare again and peruse the Pop. Plus any others they may have.

don't get a pop dunoon, hated mine remember, and i had two to make sure!!! you like macs they are better than pop in every way.

CarGirl · 21/05/2009 22:19

what's the handle height on the triumph?

FlyMeToDunoon · 21/05/2009 22:20

Macs too expensive!

OP posts:
CarGirl · 21/05/2009 22:20

surely the triumph is less than £100?

FlyMeToDunoon · 21/05/2009 22:21

Triumph same as Volo I think which is too low for me.

OP posts:
used2bthin · 21/05/2009 22:23

Triumph handle height is 104cm I think. I had a quest and found it too short and my ebay jane energy has just broken so I was about to do the same thread! Very interested in the Hauck is it ok to use? I've been looking out for a second hand techno my DD is 2.8 so it feels very annoying to be buying at this stage but she still uses one a lot.

nicolamumof3 · 21/05/2009 22:24

yes it would be, i think that jane energy on kiddicare looks good! and you've had one before...

CarGirl · 21/05/2009 22:25

just buy them a mini micro scooter instead. That was the cause of dd4 giving up the pushchair at 2.1

wilkos · 21/05/2009 22:25

maclaren quest, lovely and much cheaper than techno xt

FlyMeToDunoon · 21/05/2009 22:27

Quest is lower too no?
No way I would trust DD3 down the road every day on her scooter and you can't get shopping on them!

OP posts:
CarGirl · 21/05/2009 22:29

You can get a shopping trolley!

No I haven't dared either yet.......

nicolamumof3 · 21/05/2009 22:30

yes quest is lower than the new zapp.

Ceolas · 21/05/2009 22:31

I'm sure saw a Maclaren Quest in Mothercare today for £140 . Is that right?
