Wii Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City with Wii Speak

If you have this, is it good? I'm thinking of it for DD, almost 6. Is the Wii Speak good? Is it worth the extra ££? I'm thinking this would be a relly fun way to communicate with cousins in the states.

Thank you LadyMuck and SoupDragon i havent come across a sling shot as yet but will keep a look out.

Sorry another question does continous changing of the time make any differnce to the game or is it ok to do that?

LadyMuck · 21/03/2009 18:59

Soupy - look for the shadow on the ground. They only appear on sunny days for a reason .

LadyMuck · 21/03/2009 19:03

If you time travel you will get more weeds appearing and you upset your neighbours who think that they haven't seen you for weeks. Also you can't timetravel with turnips around - they spoil.

But the thing that appeals to me about this game is that there isn't a single objective, so there isn't necessarily any harm in time travelling if for example your main objective is to collect all bugs and fish. Just be aware that it will impact on other aspects (which may not be your objective).

We're currently trying to get a golden watering can which involves an awful lot of gardening!

SoupDragon · 21/03/2009 19:05

I've paid off my final mortgage [preen] My next objective is the golden watering can I think.

LadyMuck · 21/03/2009 19:08

Is that the one where you get a flag? I have a basement but I was saving up my bells for a lighthouse (I have of course had to pay off the dcs mortgages too ).

BeauticianNotMagician · 21/03/2009 19:09

If i go missing for a while its because the ds's are in bed and my wii is winking at me.

BeauticianNotMagician · 21/03/2009 19:12

Goodness SoupDragon and LadyMuck you must have put in some time as well.Didnt realise my home would get a basement and everything eventually.

LadyMuck · 21/03/2009 19:19

Its a way of bonding with my children, honest .

None of us managed to win the Fishing Tourney today though. But I'm hoping to get the top room score from the Happy Room Academy tonight.

SoupDragon · 21/03/2009 19:36

LOL.

I've got the Wild World version on DS so I've got an upstairs room (in addition to the bedroom) and then 3 extra rooms off the original downstairs room (which has been enlarged). It took a lot of fruit picking but I had them on a 3 day rotation so they didn't all fruit at once. god, that sounds so sad!

As I said before, I've also won the fishing tourney. With a sea bass (not again!)

AtheneNoctua · 21/03/2009 20:05

How does this Wii Speak thing work? I understand it it pretty much a speaker / microphone. But can two people connect and then interact on the game? Do they have to be in the same town?

I was going to get the wii speak but didnt bother as a few people told me it was a waste of money.

I won the fishing tourney yesterday.Yay.

AtheneNoctua · 24/03/2009 20:55

Anyone know how I can play with my Mii character?

Re turnips: If you have the Wild World version (don't know about the City one) there's a glitch that lets you keep the white turnips for longer. If you stand in front of a table and drop something else on the ground (notepaper works well) and then drop a turnip, the turnip will go on the table. Turnips on tables don't rot. You can get 4 on a big table and 2 on a small table.
