oh no hope shes ok? x

littlelamb · 20/02/2009 22:00

You seem to be the ladies to ask about all things pushchair- which one do you think is best to fit 2 children in to do some walking and jogging? Dd is 4, but small for her age, and ds is 8 mo and I need to start jogging again, which is just not possible at dd's snails pace! There is a MB double urban and a double nipper for sale locally. WHich one would be best? The MB is the older version with a fixed handle, is that generally a problem? And what kind of damage should I be looking for if I go and look at them??

BexieID · 20/02/2009 22:13

Am I being thick, but I thought you couldn't get new covers for the fixed handle MB? Or is it just certain designs?

Disenchanted3 · 20/02/2009 22:45

hiya

need advice ....

i sold pliko, some other bits too and my lovely hubby has given me another 100

S have a goood amount in paypal,

sooooo do i get a bee or a cam??

Def want a bug, nothing else really does it, and finally have an oppotunity to buy one

What do you think?

Maclaren · 20/02/2009 23:06

Disenchanted3 I would go for the Cam I have had both and the bee's seat is really small also its an arse to put up and down if you have it facing you and if you sit the seat up you cant see the baby anyway with the hood up! invest in a Cam you can then get it loads of custom parts or no second thought you know you want the switch lol!

Maclaren · 20/02/2009 23:07

You can still get them Bexie but if they havent got them in stock you will be waiting months (like the bloody basket) Also they are more expensive than the newer version because they are a better material!

onelittlelion · 20/02/2009 23:24

Bexie did you ever get basket? My friend phoned and was told they were discontinued and not available any more Mayb you got last one?! She asked about new covers too and they said had to be made especially so very expensive. I've seen people adapt the newer covers tho altho not a perfect fit. I'm sure sgk did so she mayb one to ask?

Maclaren · 20/02/2009 23:43

MrsM BJCM in black here

SparklyGothKat · 21/02/2009 00:31

The newer covers do fit on the older urbans but they are slightly baggy near the top of the seat. But they do work. old fixed handle MB with designer covers

BexieID · 21/02/2009 06:32

Oh right. I'd be too scared taking them off and not being able to get the new ones on! I wuite liked the green ones that I think lisad had once, that began with an M.

The basket is still AWOL, lol. brightandshiny offered to make one, but I think she's quite busy atm, as i've not heard from her since I sent her back the basket she lent me.

I am thinking of getting another make of basket and doing some adapting, but it's deciding what one to go for, so I'm studying customers buggys at work now.

ridingjoker · 21/02/2009 09:05

little lamb. - nipper will be too small for 4yo.

plus the 4 wheels on mb make it more stable over rough ground

but if your going to do some serious jogging then you need something like this

www.joggingstroller.com/Baby-Jogger-Performance-Double-20-Double-jogging-stroller.pro

note the large wheels.

adjustable handle depends on your height. but you can get an extension if you find it too low

onelittlelion · 21/02/2009 10:12

Bexie will have a think too about basket but custom made my be best? littlelamb not sure if mumo5 still got it but she was selling a double bob stroller which would be perfect in theory as they are made for jogging but have swivel wheel option for none jogging days and great for older toddlers too am told. Think website is bobgear.com.

FlyMeToDunoon · 21/02/2009 10:57

Just been reading Poshbugs listing for MB hood on ebay here and says you need an MB with a bar at back of seat. Don't think mine does. It has a rigid part at top of seat. Anyone know about this?
SparklyGothKat perhaps?
Am thinking of going whole hog and ordering liner and hood as a set. Can't decide. And then there is the question of whether to change material I have inside hood if I get matching liner. Contrast inside would be better huh?
Of course would be much simpler if you could see and touch fabrics....... and get replies to emails.

SparklyGothKat · 21/02/2009 11:25

Heather is very busy atm (have been waiting over a month for a set for the bee that I have just sold )

WRT to the poshbugs set I think she makes them for the bar ones only. You could ask if she could make it for the older one..

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 21/02/2009 11:30

MrsM are you bidding on this? Just checking it's not you out of courtesy! cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=110350735103

nappyaddict · 21/02/2009 12:21

RJ - my friend is also dithering between nipper or MB. I know nipper is lighter in weight but which would you say is lighter to push?

nappyaddict · 21/02/2009 12:23

Argh how annoying. Someone has emailed me asking if i've still got the dazzle but when i tried to reply it wouldn't deliver it.

nicolamumof3 · 21/02/2009 12:47

nappy have you seen that choc/blue xlrs are on sale in mothercare £175? but out of stock online

nappyaddict · 21/02/2009 13:10

I've got my eye on this one

nicolamumof3 · 21/02/2009 13:23

thats really nice nappy, i like the navy. i've got some tan/crimson covers on their way for my xlr. they will be lovely for summer!
