maybe i should just order from kiddicare then ask them to price match as you then get 5% back??

MrsMagooo · 22/01/2009 17:53

That's what they'll tell you to do lovely, did it with my P&T

nicolamumof3 · 22/01/2009 17:55

ok they did price match before the pop but i didn't get the 5% as well?? will order it in a bit got to wrestle a very overtired luka into the bath first!! and ask them to price match + 5%

MrsMagooo · 22/01/2009 17:57

I didn't get the 5% either - can't remember why now

npg1 · 22/01/2009 17:58

Evening ladies.

I posted yesterday about a good 3 wheeler for walking/ running with a 2.5yr old. I have since found a Jane powertrack secondhand for £60. Is this a good price or too much? I need to check that thing with the front wheel if I see it.

Also im in a bit of a dilema. Someone has offered me a mothercare 3 wheeler (which is quite old) to swap with my nearly brand new mac Triumph, do i still swap or sell the triumph and buy the Jane? What would you all do?

MrsMagooo · 22/01/2009 18:01

Ah yes - they only offer the 5% if you have already bought from them then find it cheaper within 7 days, I think because I asked them to price match first that's why I didn't get it

MrsMagooo · 22/01/2009 18:03

npg1 I did reply to you yesterday about Mothercare UD I'm not really 'up' on Jane myself (even though I have one PMSL), I know Elmo knows her stuff when it comes to Jane

Hi Pushchair ladies

Can you give me any tips please?

Want to get a v lightweight pushchair - something like a Volo or Fizz but i want a reclining function so thinking of the Triumph.

Have looked online but not seen a great deal anywhere.
Dh insists on not red (or pink, we have 2 DSs), preferably navy and some of the better offers only have pink or red.

Any advice on where to look?
And advice re Triumphs versus other pushchairs?

Thanks

pushchair · 22/01/2009 18:22

NPG1 I had a powertrack and bought it for £40 + delivery. It had the front wheel problem-wobbly when at any speed above regular walking but actually better approaching running speed. This was improved by replacing the bearings and lubrication.
I would say £60 is a bit expensive.
I wouls not swap your pushchair for a mothercare 3 wheeler, they have very poor resale value.

Hello JKS Fancy meeting you here. Triumph is a fab pushchair but does not recline much. What age for?

npg1 · 22/01/2009 18:40

Thank you ladies. Mrsmagoo, sorry must have missed your post or was it you that said the UD are good for what i want?! I just worry that I will get a raw end of the deal if I swap and maybe should get the Jane as it looks lovely!

nicolamumof3 · 22/01/2009 18:51

i would have thought £60 for the jane not bad?? depends what condition its in and how old? would rather have a jane than an UD tho.

Triumph are ok won't be as light as a volo but if you need a bit of a recline i would go for it. maclaren are brining out all new 2009 you might still get a bargain on an 08 model, the new 09 volo have a v.slight recline. depends how old your child is really? and how often naps in pushchair and how often you want to use it??

MrsMagooo · 22/01/2009 19:01

npg1 Yup I loved my UD, often dream about getting another!! But I do agree that a Jane would be better. I wouldn't personally swap the UD for your Triumph as that's not a fair swap IMO

nicolamumof3 · 22/01/2009 19:03

oooh im off out soon to pizza express yummy yummy! just got boys to bed really tired, not feeling great today but think it will do me good to get out.

see you all later, haven't had chance to order xt yet, so will do later, let me know if you spot any bargains. im still v.tempted by dazzle tho!

JustKeepSwimming · 22/01/2009 19:28

Thanks for the replies.
I have 2 DSs; 2.5yrs & 1yr.
It's really for the odd occasion with DS1 and for more of the time with DS2 (with a buggy board hopefully if it fits for DS1).
DS1 prefers to walk most of the time now.

I already have:
a M&P Aria (hate it, it's falling apart)
a P&T - useful in it's way but heavy and big when you just want one seat
a M&P 3-in-1 thing that has the buggy board on atm but it's big too and a pain to take apart, fold up & put in the car.

When would i use the new buggy:

  • when we were in Center Parcs recently and DS1 could walk to the pool but DS2 couldn't and is too heavy to carry all the time
  • when we take DS1 to pre-school and the 3-in-1 is too big and awkward
  • when popping into town with just one of the boys for something
etc.

It's not really for naps though a slight recline might make it comfier if either did want to nap.
Would also be for taking abroad.

Is the Triumph the right one do you think?
What is the difference between 2008 & 2009? colours?
(apart from veto-ing (sp?) red/pink, not bothered by colours really).

MrsMagooo · 22/01/2009 19:38

HHmmmm JKS how about something like a Zia, Presto?

Or a Luna/Ora?

Umlellala · 22/01/2009 20:09

That's a fab find, thanks. BUT I was speaking with my friend this afternoon, and she mentioned she had a 'spare' board with no connectors - so depending on what happens with our buggy, looks like dh will be doing some dodgy diy experimenting!

debbie102 · 22/01/2009 20:11

be carefull some you carnt get the connecters for now .

MrsMagooo · 22/01/2009 20:17

Yay well done Techno

Umlellala · 22/01/2009 20:19

Ooh, well done Techno!

elmoandella · 22/01/2009 20:20

hello,

got my maclaren double photo's on for sale twin

wouldn't swap for ud. terrible to get rid of if you dont like it.

jks - what about a [[http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplayA_37_10751_-1_14051_62433_10001_1 4051#description_tab fizz]

i've not had one. but like the idea of removable pad.and if your after volo , boots has the black and white one on sale and with double points. brings it in very cheap

as for the powertrack £60 is quite good. but if you keep your eye out you could probably get a slalom on ebay under £100 and the slaloms have had the wheel problem fixed aparently. and you can still buy slalom accesories.
