Maclaren Quest - it's great but I always seem to make a right hash of unfolding it...

Am I useless, stupid or just missing some trick?

Don't they just!

When i take out just DD, who is 18 weeks, I skip off down the road like I was pushing a little cloud on wheels.

The double is a Maclaren too but somedays it just annoys me for some reason, lugging it on and off kerbs and people being annoyed with me for taking up more than my fair share of room......

I saw a lady last week with a big 3 wheeler Maclaren that looked more like a pram, I didn't know they did them?

differentID · 14/01/2009 21:07

3-wheeler Maclaren?

IwishIwasamermaid · 14/01/2009 21:15

Yes, it was definitely a Maclaren, I couldn't take my eyes off it!

It looked a bit like an Urban 3 wheeler thingy, but it was grey and blue and def said Maclaren down the side.

I've never seen anything like it.

The baby in it was newborn so it must have been new I think.

nicolamumof3 · 14/01/2009 21:19

oh yes the joys of doubles i have 18m gap between my two youngest ds.

i think the mac 3 wheeler was an mx3 they used to make?

differentID · 14/01/2009 21:23

The MX3 is a single. I've just looked at their website to check I wasn't being thick but they don't do 3 wheeler doubles.

nicolamumof3 · 14/01/2009 21:26

i didn't think mermaid meant a double tho?

differentID · 14/01/2009 21:27

ah, could be!

IwishIwasamermaid · 14/01/2009 21:27

Sorry, it was a single I meant.

It was an MX3, I looked at the Global site, I had no idea they made so many things!

differentID · 14/01/2009 21:29

It's more than anyone thinks.

IwishIwasamermaid · 14/01/2009 21:31

Can I ask if you know where to get spares from? I need to get a new crotch buckle for the Quest but I don't know where to get them?

differentID · 14/01/2009 21:35

you need a new seat unit. The crotch strap is completely attached to the seat unit.

IwishIwasamermaid · 14/01/2009 21:42

Mine comes out, thats how I lost it, I took it out to wash it, went to put the straps back in and only had the waist ones, DS must have hidden it somewhere but I just can't find it.

Its just a strip of fabric with the buckle on and a small ridge of fabric at the end which you poke through the bottom of the seat and the little ridge holds it in place.

differentID · 14/01/2009 21:46

Is it the old style buckle? or is it the pressure plate one?

IwishIwasamermaid · 14/01/2009 21:47

It must be the old style, the 2 squeezy buckles you push in from each side.

I bought it when DS was 3 months and he's 17 months now so its 14 months old.

differentID · 14/01/2009 21:48

Tried e-mailing Maclaren?

IwishIwasamermaid · 14/01/2009 21:55

I tried phoning them and they gave me number to phone but they couldn't help as the repair man was on holiday and they didn't know what stock they had in.

I'll try phoning Maclaren again.

differentID · 14/01/2009 21:56

give it a go.
Good luck.

IwishIwasamermaid · 14/01/2009 21:57

Thanks
