CantSleepWontSleep · 29/12/2008 20:32

Search the archives - hundreds of threads saying how terrible they are.

bodiddly · 29/12/2008 20:32

a friend of mine had HUGE problems ... I have seen loads of people complaining about them on here. Try kiddicare I have never heard anything bad about them!

CoteDAzur · 29/12/2008 20:34

They are horrible and should be shot.

whitenoise · 29/12/2008 20:36

plenty in the archives and on watchdog about them

cocolepew · 29/12/2008 20:38

Oh I'm disapointed I thought this was going to be a thread about somebody who really has 2 left feet

I got very excited, Now I'm crushed .

Hulababy · 29/12/2008 20:41

I would definitely NOT recommend them. Have used them twice. First time no problem. Second time a couple of years later - absolute nightmare. All in archives on here. Just don't - not worth the agro if anything goes wrong.

baublerock · 29/12/2008 20:43

How are they still running???

cocolepew · 29/12/2008 22:49

Dear all, I too naively, ordered from this company without reading any reviews beforehand. I am used to ordering online all the time, and probably not lying when I say I place an order with one company or another every day. So I was really surprised to be mistreated by this one like you all have.

I placed an order worth around £300 - so not as big as you might have, especially if you are expecting (my son is older now) - just needing a cot extension and new car seat etc. My card was charged the same day but a few weeks later still no goods. My husband popped in the store and tried claiming it there and then. Only some of the sheets were in stock. What a surprise! After a few more weeks we received the cot parts but no car seat. Six months still no car seat. I tried being polite to start with, then threatened the small claim court etc but no luck. Please do not waste any more time or your money on this company. No use emailing or calling them. I ordered from Kiddicare instead and got the car seat within 2 days.

The only thing you can do, and I suggest you do so immediately (before the reputation gets out and they go bust), is to drive up there and claim your money back on the spot in store. I have done so about two weeks ago and it worked! I understand it is rather far for some, I live in London myself, but it is the only way you will get your money back. I do not understand how any retailer can treat their customers in this manner in this economic climate when all other retailers are fighting over any customers left. I know children will be born whatever the economy but this company does not deserve to be in business!

I suggest you take a trip up there and claim your money back. Make sure you take all your documentation with you as they are going to be difficult but they will pay! Also when there do all the other shoppers there a favour and tell them what you think of this company and advise them not to order with them. I made sure that everybody in the queue heard me! If you can walk out of the store with it buy it otherwise stay well clear! There is a lovely safari park nearby called Woburn so make a nice day out to treat yourselves!

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL to deal with. They are thieves and are impossible to contact by email or phone.

Same story as many others: I ordered a beautiful change bag in August, which they took the £70 for straight away. When it became apparent it wasn't going to arrive in time I cancelled the order.

However, I still have no refund (now January)

The only response I've had from them came by sending a letter to MD Richard Bone citing the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 Act and emailing a copy to their aftersales email address. They finally acknowledged the cancellation and promised a refund within 30 days but, 4 months on, I still don't have it. Due to new baby, I've not been able to pursue it but will revisit my efforts now that my ire has been refuelled.

Outrageously awful to deal with. DO NOT USE...EVER!

SpecialOffer · 18/01/2009 07:55

My friend is currently in a dispute with them over a cot they have still not delivered, she ordered when she was 30 weeks, and the baby is almost 3 months now.

DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM

petrovia · 18/01/2009 08:21

I think they take orders and payment then wait till they have enough to place a huge bulk order and only then do you get your stuff iyswim.

I think that is why the prices are low, it depends on them ordering in bulk. If you order just before they get their stuff in, you'll get it quickly, but if you are one of the first you'll be waiting till everyone else has ordered and most people want to give up by then.

Pennies · 18/01/2009 08:34

Can't believe TLF are still going. Two years ago I ordered a high chair from them and they went and stuck an order for a £350 pram on it. We couldn't get in touch to cancel the order and getting the money back was a nightmare.

A mumsnetter gave me Richard Bones email address and dh (a lawyer) sent an email that clearly put the willies on them coz we got the money back pretty sharpish.

CruelAndUnusualParenting · 20/01/2009 19:27

I hope you all paid by credit card.

Claim your money back from the card issuer. It's not hard. They are usually very helpful.

sorrento · 20/01/2009 23:35

They have behaved like this for 4 years.
I had a retail business similar to theirs and Richard personally used to phone me and threaten me over ridiculas claims of stealing customers by warning people about their "customer service".
Anybody who deals with them needs to walk out with the goods otherwise it's never straight forward.

MaHumbug · 20/01/2009 23:50

Check BBC Watchdog website - they've covered the company.

'nuff said

MaHumbug · 20/01/2009 23:51

Try Kiddicare - I've ordered large products twice. They're good value for money, quick, vast selection of goods/brands and reliable.

Rindercella · 21/01/2009 00:01

Do not buy from two left feet. EVER. They are a farking nightmare

Ashantai · 21/01/2009 21:47

We tend to get their grumpy customers in our store after they have waited months for their purchases.

We had someone come and buy a Quinny Buzz with all the extras cos she had waited 5 months for it all to come from them, and her baby was now 4 weeks and she hadnt been able to leave the house.

Good for us, but unfortunately not very good at all for her. Sometimes we dont have the item a customer wants in stock, and they ask for reliable online store, and i always recommend Kiddicare. Their vids on youtube are fantastic too.

ScottishMummy · 21/01/2009 22:46

two left feet deliverd me broken nursing chair had to argue and threaten solicitor letter.FOUL

awful company.AVOID

Hopefully · 21/01/2009 22:51

Vile vile company. Spent 3 months arguing with them and eventually informed them I was a financial journalist (I am, btw) and would be ensuring they got negative cover in major papers. I got my goods within 5 days.
Still planning on getting their reputation out there though.

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 21/01/2009 22:55
