My dd was bought one for a birthday, it is pink, from woollies if I remember, it's not too big...

RhubarbEatsBiscuitsOnTheBog · 02/10/2008 13:54

EBay?

geogteach · 02/10/2008 13:54

ELC do one

notnowbernard · 02/10/2008 13:54

Is it a portable one?

I bought dd2 one from Crayola - from amazon - search for it

£35 and very good - not too sickly either.

PoorOldEnid · 02/10/2008 13:55

elc one is a bit pants (ie quiet) mind you if she likes pink she will love it

PoorOldEnid · 02/10/2008 13:56

here

notnowbernard · 02/10/2008 13:58

It's for story CDs really

She gets travel sick so can't read/draw in the car

Will look at ELC one (is into pink, sadly) and Crayola one

Thanks all

oh we have a sony cd walkman for the car. Argos. Brilliant.

Polaris · 02/10/2008 14:00

I bought the ELC one about three years ago. I wouldn't recommend it as it's hardly played properly since we've had it. I tried returning it, but typically it played okay in the shop - and then for a little while after again before finally giving up the ghost for good.

notnowbernard · 02/10/2008 14:00

Thanks for that link, Enid

this is what we have in the car

we bought a different pair of headphones (the ones with a 'headband' thing - easier to keep on)

dont get a really really cheap one. we did and the hiss was so bad dd2 couldnt hear the stories!

RhubarbEatsBiscuitsOnTheBog · 02/10/2008 14:03

Asda did them for a fiver. Not pink or 'owt, but bog standard CD players. My 4yo ds can work them so don't be put off by the small buttons. Often you are paying through the nose for bigger buttons and lurid colours that you just don't need. A nice grey one that they can decorate themselves with stickers does the job just as well.

notnowbernard · 02/10/2008 14:07

Ok, ELC one rejected on basis of crap reviews

Rhubarb, anything non-pink grey would be rejected on-the-spot

Enid, that pink Argos one looks great. Would also buy different headphones

Right, birthday sorted...

Anyone know where you can get a 'Girls World' type styling head?!

OP posts:
nailpolish · 02/10/2008 14:11

my dd has the Bratz styling head
(yes i know Bratz are the work of the devil)
but she feckin loves it

nailpolish · 02/10/2008 14:11

woolies have quite a good sale on just now
tons of half price stuff in my local on eanyway

RhubarbEatsBiscuitsOnTheBog · 02/10/2008 14:11

silver then? You can decorate it with pink star stickers.

I just don't believe in paying almost triple the price for something that works just as well as the cheaper version.

nailpolish · 02/10/2008 14:12

woolies have a pink one dead cheap

notnowbernard · 02/10/2008 14:15

Rhubarb, the Argos one Enid linked to was only £19.99, so that's a fair price (for me). And that will be DD1's main birthday pressie (we'll get her something small as well - maybe a story CD to go with it)

I've been looking at the ELC head but it's been out of stock for ages. Not in-store either

Don't know if I can go down the Bratz route yet...

OP posts:
nailpolish · 02/10/2008 14:16

there are loads and loads of styling heads
buy some cheap clips and stuff to go with it from claires

notnowbernard · 02/10/2008 14:18

Nailpolish - liking that idea! Could get some crap make-up to go with it

OP posts:
notnowbernard · 02/10/2008 14:18

I love MN

OP posts:
nailpolish · 02/10/2008 14:19

notnowbernard · 02/10/2008 14:21
