My dd was bought one for a birthday, it is pink, from woollies if I remember, it's not too big...

I bought dd2 one from Crayola - from amazon - search for it

£35 and very good - not too sickly either.

elc one is a bit pants (ie quiet) mind you if she likes pink she will love it

It's for story CDs really

She gets travel sick so can't read/draw in the car

oh we have a sony cd walkman for the car. Argos. Brilliant.

I bought the ELC one about three years ago. I wouldn't recommend it as it's hardly played properly since we've had it. I tried returning it, but typically it played okay in the shop - and then for a little while after again before finally giving up the ghost for good.

this is what we have in the car

we bought a different pair of headphones (the ones with a 'headband' thing - easier to keep on)

dont get a really really cheap one. we did and the hiss was so bad dd2 couldnt hear the stories!

Asda did them for a fiver. Not pink or 'owt, but bog standard CD players. My 4yo ds can work them so don't be put off by the small buttons. Often you are paying through the nose for bigger buttons and lurid colours that you just don't need. A nice grey one that they can decorate themselves with stickers does the job just as well.

Rhubarb, the Argos one Enid linked to was only £19.99, so that's a fair price (for me). And that will be DD1's main birthday pressie (we'll get her something small as well - maybe a story CD to go with it)

I've been looking at the ELC head but it's been out of stock for ages. Not in-store either
