Looking on ebay for a bargain - Sport or E3 which is better? What colour to get? Is it like so many things and certain colours are passe?

littleducks · 27/09/2008 18:59

sport recline is good but sunshade rubbish otherwise much of a muchness

fairy15 · 27/09/2008 19:11

the recline does'nt make a huge difference imo as it only goes back a little. i had the camo blue & it was great as it was so different but i really like the black. red seems to be popular.

Fadge · 27/09/2008 19:14

red is all I see - like the sound of the camo blue!

Looking on ebay hoping for a bargain but all the ones I would bid on are pick up and miles away

OP posts:
fairy15 · 27/09/2008 19:19

you should mail them before & ask them if you won could you arrange your own courier to pick it up & all they would need to do is wrap it in bin bags. those ones tend to go for cheaper. i've done a couple of buggies that way & they were happy to do it as i think some people don't like the idea of arranging a courier.
blue was lovely & only ever saw one other person with it. nicolamumof3 has just brought one & loves it. she'll be around soon

Fadge · 27/09/2008 19:25

Hmmmm arranging a courier, how the hell does one do that?!

OP posts:
jellybeans · 27/09/2008 19:28

camo blue would be my choice

fairy15 · 27/09/2008 19:49

its easy you just need to know the rough measurements & weight. i normally use www.directparceldelivery.com/index.htm its easy enough.

nicolamumof3 · 27/09/2008 19:58

hi there, here is my lovely baby...i mean the pushchair!! www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/20470709
It has been the best double i've had. I use that courier that fairy recommended to me, they use dhl and are v.good, its just whether the seller agrees you must check before bidding. I don't think they need dimensions for uk only, as long as under 20kgs which it would be won't cost you any more than £7/8.

nicolamumof3 · 27/09/2008 19:59

oh I see red everywhere, my second choice would have been black

Fadge · 27/09/2008 20:01

gosh is that all it might cost?? wow going to email a few sellers, brb!! I suppose the sellers are just worried that it's a faff having to package it up etc?

OP posts:
Fadge · 27/09/2008 20:01

Nicola, wow, your baby p&t looks fab!

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 27/09/2008 20:04

Thanks Fadge bought from Oxford Pram Centre they are lovely, got it online tho but fab cust.service thoroughly recommend them. New with doubles and raincover £355 delivered.

Fadge · 27/09/2008 20:04

"Max Weight: 31kg, Max Size: 120cm X 60cm X 60cm."

hmm no idea what the dimensions would be of a packaged up P&t...the weight would be more than covered though thanks for that link!!

OP posts:
Fadge · 27/09/2008 20:05

good price Nicola - I was looking in town today at a single and that was £330 on it's own

OP posts:
fairy15 · 27/09/2008 20:07

you should beable to find a link somewhere on a buggy website to say the measurements. i normally just say roughly & if its a bit over they don't normally notice. good luck

nicolamumof3 · 27/09/2008 20:08

they should measure it for you when its done, but you can book delivery with that courier and you pay via paypal they don't ask for dimensions when i've used them in uk. i would really recommend OPC they were great, when i got it it had a faulty wheel i was in tears as the shop is 100 miles away from us. my dh did offer to drive as we had no double buggy but they couriered a new wheel fitting to us within 24hrs from p&t v.impressed.

Fadge · 27/09/2008 20:09

suppose it depends how they parcel it up, do you have to box it up?

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 27/09/2008 20:11

Not necessarily, i have bubble wrapped and black bagged a maclaren for courier before. personally a p&t I would want in a box as they are quite big still folded.

Fadge · 27/09/2008 20:12

I'd be concerned at it being bent/bashed etc if not boxed - I'm a worry wart!

I can't believe this buggy has taken over my thoughts completely, it's all I can talk about right now, I'm obsessed

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 27/09/2008 20:54

don't worry fadge you aren't alone!! im exactly the same. I had a 'few' pushchairs so i sold them all to afford my new p&t! I sold baby clothes and unused equipment as i was so desperate for it, and hubby gave me a little towards it.

Fadge · 27/09/2008 21:38

hmm yes I have a "few" pushchairs too

well got one reply back saying "we'd rather not..." I bet it's a Mnetter haha! sent them a subtely snotty reply back anyway

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 27/09/2008 21:42

maybe you should treat yourself to a nice shiny new one then? when do you need it for?

Fadge · 27/09/2008 22:41

I don't need one asap or anything, it just would be nice and a whole lot better than my current buggy/sling combo!

I really can't afford a new one I can barely afford the prices they go for on Ebay but I want one!

I'm still scouring Ebay and emailing any likely looking ones, even singles now, to ask if they would courier

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 27/09/2008 22:46

what are the ages of your dcs? I spent a year saying 'i don't want a p&t' 'I don't like them' etc, etc. I had had four doubles since the birth of ds3 in July 2007 i was struggling pushing my double maclaren, due to the weight of ds2 and 3 borrowed a friends p&t and what a liberation!

Fadge · 27/09/2008 22:48

children are 5 months and 1yo, occasionally a 2yo too, in which case the sling would be in use again!
