We've got a cheap one that's a cube and has no light unless you tap it and then it lights up, hang on

Ledodgy · 28/07/2008 21:31

Lol I have this problem I use a nappy to cover mine!

snickersnack · 28/07/2008 21:32

No, but am hoping someone can help as I have a similar desire...

bythepowerofgreyskull · 28/07/2008 21:32

NappiesNoMore · 28/07/2008 21:32

stealthsquiggle · 28/07/2008 21:34

I have a roberts one where you can turn the backlight off - hang on I will look and see if I can find it somewhere online.

TrinityRhino · 28/07/2008 21:34

stealthsquiggle · 28/07/2008 21:38

It's like this one but not a DAB radio (and therefore a lot cheaper!)

WideWebWitch · 28/07/2008 21:47

Here is the one we've got, the Aurora colour changing clock there's no light unless you touch it or the alarm goes off. No noise either and cheap.

TrinityRhino · 28/07/2008 21:53

hhhm not sure I like the colour changing one
is it only battery operated??

and john lewis!!, wow they are lovely but no chance

WideWebWitch · 28/07/2008 21:56

No, ours is plugged in, no batteries. It doesn't change colour unless you put it on that setting. It is no colour normally!

But if you don't like it I'mn not remotely offended, not at all!

NappiesNoMore · 28/07/2008 21:57

i like it... not that i use a clock usually, what with having 3 live alarm clocks disguised as children

morningpaper · 28/07/2008 21:58

lol

I also cover mine with books

sort of defeats the object though

morningpaper · 28/07/2008 21:59

I've got that cheap cube one that you tap, but it keeps RUBBISH time

NappiesNoMore · 28/07/2008 22:00

oh

ho hum

TrinityRhino · 28/07/2008 22:02

oh morningpaper!

I was starting to like it if I didn't HAVE to have it changing colour oall the time and could plug it in....but I want it to stay at approx. the right time lol

Now you mention it you're right MP. Most bewildering esp with the split second morning timing in our house
had forgotten that this am the kitchen clock said 6.40 and upstairs one said 6.45 and there's nfw it took me five minutes to walk upstairs

morningpaper · 28/07/2008 22:04

yeah I kept having to change it

now I've given up and just let the children play with it

so have Street-Light Clock covered in books instead

Lio · 28/07/2008 22:05

Personal shopper in the Guardian did these, including one that dims, about halfway through the column, from John Lewis. here

morningpaper · 28/07/2008 22:07

Hmmm she is a fan of projection clocks, but as a speccy four-eyed mole I don't see how that would help me?

morningpaper · 28/07/2008 22:08

And I don't like green LED - too bright

It's got to be red

midnightexpress · 28/07/2008 22:12

Mine's great - bought it specifically for its lack of brightness, as I was doing lots of night-time bfing at the time and didn't want to have Blackpool Illuminations for company. It's a DAB one called a Pure Siesta. Hang on, I'll see if I can get a link. I got it in the John Lewis sale for about 40 quid.

voila

midnightexpress · 28/07/2008 22:13

The display is a sort of grey colour btw
