Mine?s 8 years old and am planning to use it for new baby. Do I have to prepare myself for being openly laughed at?

OMG there's one for sale in NewZealand $20. It looks so basic and bloody uncomfortable!!!

NameChangingMancMidlander · 02/02/2005 11:23

woodpops · 02/02/2005 11:25

I can't do links . Let me go and look what the website was. Hold on, I'll be back.

NameChangingMancMidlander · 02/02/2005 11:26

okey doke.... How sad am I ?!

woodpops · 02/02/2005 11:28

It's www.trademe.co.nz then put cindico in the search. Can you do a link so everyone can see what naff buggies we had as kids ???

NameChangingMancMidlander · 02/02/2005 11:31

OMG It's the eact same one ! I seem to have a vague recollection of the fabric being scratchy...

Rejoice in the 70's naffness !

woodpops · 02/02/2005 11:33

It's truley awful isn't it. It's bringing back all my childhood memories. I think I need councilling from the effects of the buggy

NameChangingMancMidlander · 02/02/2005 11:34

It's sooooooooo revolting

woodpops · 02/02/2005 11:37

Evil parents. Do you think my dd will say the same of her bright red qinney 3 wheeler???

NameChangingMancMidlander · 02/02/2005 11:38

who knows. Dd has had so many (last count we'd had about 8 for one baby!) so I don't give her time to form an opinion

Nikkichik · 02/02/2005 12:43

We are on our 2nd £60 MotherCare stroller - can't remember the name of it. dd is nearly 3 and we use it every day (we don't drive) did consider a 3 wheeler but price and space big considerations!

jessicasmummy · 02/02/2005 12:46

that was horrendous! I remember it so vividly now! Mum always said i was a lazy cow (nothing changes!) and i was in it til i was 4! Amazing the little things you remember from your past!!!!

How on earth did i miss this thread.
I have 3 kids and so far have had 16 prams/pushchairs, which yes is alot but i get bored of them.

I don't buy stupuidly expensive ones though, a few of mine have been second hand and not always trendy either.

Ds is now 2.1 and i really really want to buy one last one, but just can't justify it this time as we have too much other stuff we need to buy.

I quite like the retroness of that Cinidico. I have added it to my watchlist and will update you on what it sells for. It's like a deckchair on wheels. I still think people would stop you and ask you where you got it!

jane313 · 02/02/2005 18:44

I bought the cheapest smallest one I could find, a cosatto. Its been fine although I wish I had got a graco as the shopping basket looks massive. If I have another I will use it again. I have a real prejudice against expensive ones its just seems so pointless when most offer no better features. But then again I have never been into labels either

pootlepod · 02/02/2005 18:44

That pushcahiar is kind-of cool.

So not trendy pushcairs eventually end up being retro and therefore cool and trendy?

julies11 · 02/02/2005 20:07

lol this pushchair thing so funny. i had a pushchair with beads on the bar two eac side of this bar it was a mothercare had ir wriiten on the metal plate where you put your feet ( wish i could find a piccy )mine when i was little. im 25 it was a pass me down pushchair was blue fabric on the outside and had red vynil inside in winter it was cold and got sticky in the summer i remember and it had like a smell to it i remember when inside it.wasnt a real bad smell tho. i was in it till 4 and a half mum said ,she said years ago they kept children longer in pushchairs mum sold it for 3 pounds i dont think id dare push it around tho i no me strippy maclarens old lol!!! i wonder if theres any websites that have old buggies and pushchairs out there all we could start our own lol!111 sad en i or set up a chat site about old buggies lol!!!

nightowl · 02/02/2005 21:29

ds had four buggies, getting smaller each time. i always regretted not buying a travel system (well everyone had the britax then with the..what was it...apples? on) and it was £300. so when i had dd i decided a travel system was what i needed. i havent a clue about trendy ones but i bought a cute looking graco and its the biggest load of rubbish and complete waste of money. its massive, heavy, has never folded up properly (im sure im going to have my fingers off in it one day), stiff to collapse and i just love the sound of the play tray as it scrapes along the tarmac every time you unfold it. within a month it looked knackered but i assume this is a common problem with gracos as ive seen so many more scratched in exactly the same place. stupid folding design. bring on the summer when i can get my bargain orange and blue checked little pushchair thing out i say.

bea · 03/02/2005 10:28

i love trndy buggies... but must admit my graco metrosport bought in 2001 is the best buggy ever! have pushed friends m & P's, 3 wheelers, cosattos etc etc and nothing beats the graco... best shopping basket, incredibley zippy and very light! what more could you want... ?
though still have moments of weaknesses and admire other buggies...

bea · 03/02/2005 10:30

oh dear nightowl... just read your post... sorry you don;t get on with your graco...

i suppose in the end it's all horses for courses!!!
