I hate mine! It’s a cordless that has the anti hair wrap and all it does is spit dirt back out to a different area! The suction is rubbish too.

Bought a Henry in the end and although it’s not the lovely looking cordless it does the job it’s meant to do, and well

HarryVanderspeigle · 02/01/2026 22:50

Hated ours and did not buy another when it finally died. Got a miele instead.

BeaTwix · 02/01/2026 23:05

Fucking shite.

I’m selling a corded one. Replaced it with a Miele.

Haroldwilson · 02/01/2026 23:07

Sticking with my Henry, made in the UK

blablablagobshite · 02/01/2026 23:59

professional cleaner here, I have bought for my own house & used at work lots of cordless & corded sharks. For corded the cheapest “lift away” model is brilliant it’s not really heavy like the more expensive ones , really long cord on it and currently( £139 I think )great suction for carpets & stairs and you can do skirtings, cobwebs with it too. It brings the carpet pile up lovely. The cordless are ok but don’t last very long for the price I had various models & used them all but the best one is anti wrap one, bit pricy I paid £450 for a twin battery one & even after getting new parts a couple years later both batteries were not lasting long even after a year or so.

CheeseWisely · 03/01/2026 00:01

We have a corded shark and it’s brilliant. Honestly the first time we ran it over the carpets that came with our flat we discovered they were a different colour than we thought. Well worth the faff of the cord over our previous cordless hoover.

Staringintothevoid616 · 03/01/2026 00:05

We had one, started out really good but then became crap fast.we replaced with a Henry. Best hoover I’ve had

IncessantNameChanger · 03/01/2026 00:06

I have a upright corded lift away. I hate it sorry. It gets things the size of sweet wrappers suck under the roller that then doesn't roll. That's all it then takes to block it. Maybe fine if you don't have kids and you are only hoovering dust. Any stray hairband, corner or a tissue and I'm taking it apart. Me and dd have waist lenght hair and i can assure you, its all wrapped around the roller. I like the headlights and how easy it is to empty. My Henry is much better.

I have a corded Shark Liftaway and I love it. Brilliant vac and when it finally dies I would definitely buy another one again. I have a dog and a cat and it picks up all the fluff. Previously had a Dyson and a Vax and the Shark Liftaway is far far better. Long cord too.

HelenAtTheGym · 03/01/2026 00:11

Hated, hated, hated mine.
Miele. All the way. The classic one you drag.

PickledElectricity · 03/01/2026 00:17

I have a wireless shark with 2 chargers. It is good on hard floors but needs a lot of maintenance. If you have carpets you need the power of a corded vacuum unfortunately. We have hard floors downstairs and carpet upstairs so have one of each.

The tube/wand disappointingly broke just over a year after we bought it. I am very cross about that and refuse to give them any more of my money so we it l just use it as a tiny hoover and my toddler runs around with it hoovering things.

I have a Henry and he's brilliant. I have tarted him up with the additional nozzles. I now love hoovering the stairs!

We used to have a Vax Pet which was very good but my partner somehow lost a piece of the filter that can't be replaced so we had to get rid of it.

macshoto · 03/01/2026 00:55

Corded lift away model from a few years ago, together with the car-cleaning accessory kit. Has done good service for about 10 years now.

Copperoliverbear · 03/01/2026 01:13

I didn’t like the shark at all, got the new Sebo stick A1 Balance love it.

TheCurious0range · 03/01/2026 08:41

We had one for 5 years an anti hair wrap model (which in itself is laughable) it had to be repaired or replaced numerous times until they said the warranty expired, the warranty is on the purchase date not the actual item, so when the vacuum we'd been given new as a (second) replacement stopped working after 9 months they just said tough. When I queried with shark they said well if we did that we'd be constantly replacing vacuums. Well no you wouldn't if they actually lasted the five years you give a warranty for .. I would never buy one again. We've got a Henry quick pro now and so far so good.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 03/01/2026 08:46

Love my corded Shark liftaway

Staringintothevoid616 · 03/01/2026 09:09

This is the oe we had. Yes, got fed up of taking it apart. Was ok for about a year. Henry all the way for us..

Dartmoorcheffy · 03/01/2026 09:13

Absolutely hate our cordless one. Its utterly crap.

DiscoBeat · 03/01/2026 09:18

Corded shark here. Brilliant, even with Labrador hair.

Missymarple · 03/01/2026 09:50

We have a Shark corded and it's really good on carpets and hard floors. It also folds down so fits in a much smaller storage area, which is great when you have a small house.

MaJoady · 03/01/2026 09:51

Also love my corded lift away!

Suction really good, not too heavy, nice long cord

ohtowinthelottery · 03/01/2026 09:52

I've had a corded Shark lift away for a few years. It's brilliant. Best designed vacuum cleaner I've ever had with regards to nozzles etc. It did start making a funny noise 6 months ago and Shark Customer service were brilliant. Video call diagnosis and replacement parts despatched very quickly free of charge.
Their customer service means we've just bought a Shark handheld rechargeable too.
My previous vacuum cleaner was a cordless Dyson - never again.

luckyladygal · 03/01/2026 15:52

Hey thanks everyone for all your recommendations! I have a basic Shark liftaway which I have had for quite a few years but wondered if any of the newer fancier models would be better but it looks like maybe not !
Also going to have a look at the Henry & Miele vacuums as also highly recommended by you lovely lot x

I hate our corded one, going for a Henry next time

BecauseofyouIlearntnottotrust · 03/01/2026 21:39

I love my cordless shark. It is a bit needy though.
I have hard floors with a couple of rugs and a constantly moulting long haired German Shepherd.
