Help me find the perfect bonfire scented candle!

Getting a bit overwhelmed by choice. Also a lot of the “smoke” scented candles seem to have lots of other scents in too, but I really just want something that smells exactly how your coat or jumper would smell if you’d been sitting next to a bonfire for an hour.

Bonus points if it’s as natural as possible!

Diptique feu de bois

DierdreDaphne · 12/11/2025 22:51

Why tho 🥴

ExcitingRicotta · 12/11/2025 22:53

Feu de bois, Diptyque = dreamy

caramac04 · 12/11/2025 22:53

Northern Soul Scents might have what you are looking for. Candles, wax melts etc.

MumOryLane · 12/11/2025 22:56

Buy some turf incense

YellowStockings · 13/11/2025 07:49

Thanks so much everyone!

Because I love the smell! I realise scent is v personal though.

My dream would be a perfume which would make my DH smell like he’s been standing next to a bonfire 😁

Muji used to do a log fire one, maybe still do. That has been the most true fire for me.

Sellingseashells · 13/11/2025 08:04

I bought from this seller (very small) on Etsy after seeing her recommended a few times, and actually bought her 'Bonfire Night' candle. It's note are 'cedarwood' and 'smoke'

I only bought one at first, as I wasn't sure, but I've just placed a larger order for four of her candles - which also netted me 20% off😍

All 100% soy wax and she confirmed to me her candles are also paraben free. Which makes her candles better quality and better for the environment than many big sellers who use paraffin wax.

Sellingseashells · 13/11/2025 08:17

I should have said her candles are also phthalate free, vegan, and animal cruelty free. All big plusses in my book!

Bulbsbulbsbulbs · 13/11/2025 09:51

Which one of these smells most like Feu de Bois? I bought the Muji one but though unlit it smells almost the same when lit it doesn't provide much scent.

Few de Bois is my favourite smell. It's amazing but very expensive!

ThatAlertLilacFinch · 13/11/2025 09:57

Ah man I love a smokey smell at this time of year, it’s so cosy!

I bought some wax melts from Etsy that smell gorgeous but they aren’t throwing that well, so I’ll check out the candles that have been linked.

mumonthehill · 13/11/2025 10:01

DS and Duraga do a candle called portable fireplace. Their perfumes are amazing and some quite smoky.

banivani · 13/11/2025 10:50

My daughter dreams of a candle that smells like when you blow out a match, but subtly. Any suggestions for that one? To piggyback off OP seeing as how the experts are out on this thread!

PinkArt · 13/11/2025 11:20

Another vote for Feu de Bois. One of my neighbours knocked on my door when I'd been burning one for longer than usual to check my flat wasn't on fire!

Who did you buy from? My candle person linked above does wax melts that are reportedly incredible…

I used to buy from CraftsByLinda but had a few quite dodgy orders and weak candles. I think once one-person businesses get too big they just can’t cope with demand tbh!

These are my absolute go to for wax melts, my main complaint is they go on forever

the website is a bit clunky but you select a scent then press the i button on the right for a description, she restocks on Friday evenings with different scents

under shell clam is Smokey suede which you might like

The Diptique one is lovely if you want to spend a bit, the Muji one came straight to mind when I read your post though, more affordable and does have that smell. I think that's called log fire/feu de bois too.

OohRains · 13/11/2025 11:51

Feu De Bois by Diptique is the GOAT.

Does anyone have a recco for a perfume that smells of woodsmoke though?

OohRains · 13/11/2025 11:52

Extra points for one that is like Fir Tree room scent from the White Company

By the fireplace is smoky but with a bit of vanilla so it’s a touch sweeter
